4oz flour (whatever I've got, usually self raising)
1/4 pint milk
1 tablespoon oil
1 tablespoon caster sugar (leave out if you want a savoury topping)
1 tsp baking powder
1 egg
(Makes about 4 waffles. Multiply up for bigger quantities)
Mix together in bowl with electric mixer. (Or put flour and baking powder into a bowl and blend in egg and oil. Add milk a little at a time. Mix to smooth batter with sppon)
Leave to stand for 30 minutes before cooking (I don't always do this but they are more successful if I do).
Add any topping you like.
P.S I paid £30 for my Mickey waffle maker and had to lug it home from Oxford Street!!

Mine just makes one big waffle at a time. The kids like theirs with lemon juice and sugar (like pancakes) - when staying at ASSp some years ago they'd take the lemon meant for cups of tea to squirt over their waffles (after having carefully removed the sausage and eaten separately!).
