Have a friend heading down in a few weeks and she would like to find Mickey/Disney pandora beads. Anybody know where she might find some?

I have no idea what a pandora bead is. :lmao:

They're not pandora-theyre chamilia, but they fit Pandora bracelets. I think you can get them in the jewelry store on main street, but I usually just get them st the jewelry stores at home.

Many of the finer jewelry stores sell Chamilia Disney beads. I have seen them at the GF, CR, and the jewelry store at the World of Disney in DTD.

She should have the bracelet with her and try the bead on it. Some will not fit on the Pandora. I tried several of the Mickey head beads on my Pandora when I was in Mousegears and did not find one to fit.

Just as an FYI....I was recently at a Kohl's by me and they have beads that fit Pandora bracelets (can't remember name). Anyway they had a couple with Mickey heads on them...I found a nice one - red bead with silver Mickey heads that I got for my sister - it was on sale and I had a 30% off Kohl's coupon!

I'm thinking the OP's friend is looking for a souven-ear vs. buying them at home.... be sure to advise your friend to wear her bracelet as the above poster said, some do not fit on the bracelet itself. The Disney charms are not official "Pandora" charms - Chamilia and other brands have Disney themed charms so that is why they don't all fit on the Pandora bracelet. Main Street had them in MK as well as nearly all the stores that carried jewelry.

And for the OP, a "Pandora" charm (or their comparison style charms) are beads that are threaded onto a bracelet vs a charm bracelet where the charm dangles off the braclet - picture a baseball with a hole through the middle to thread the charm onto the bracelet and each charm is cut into different shapes depicting likes, hobbies, sports, colors, etc.

OP, this. I bought two charms at the Jewelry Store on Main Street. Other stores have the same one. Make sure she takes her bracelet because a couple I wanted did not fit my bracelet.

Echoing those who say that bringing the bracelet is a must. I had the best luck trying on the actual display beads - the threading on them was worn down a bit so that they're not as tight as brand-new beads.

Somewhere I heard that either Chamilia or Pandora had recently changed the threading on their beads to make them less compatible with one another.

I opted to get my wife a Chamilia bracelet over Pandora. One, because Chamilia is a US company and Pandora is not. Two, because Pandora will not warranty their bracelets if any non-Pandora beads/charms are on it. And three, because of the Disney relationship with Chamilia.

Our new tradition is that I get my wife a new Disney/Chamilia charm for each Disney trip we go on. Hopefully her wrist will be nice and gaudy in a few years. ;)

I did this too. I have a Chamilia bracelet and the only charms I have are Disney. I buy at least one every vacation so they all remind me of times we've been. Wouldn't be the same to me if i bought them at home, but that's just me. I bought the bracelet off their website since they had a larger selection then what was at the Disney stores.

Disney Parks mark up the price of the Chamilia beads. They sell them at Kay Jewelers for about 15% less than what you'd find them for. But if she really wants to get them from Disney World, try the Jewelry store in World of Disney, the Main Street Jewelers in MK, possibly Mousegears in Epcot.

A bit OT, but does anyone know if you can have the actual bracelet resized. I ended up with a bracelet (long story) and it's too big for my wrist.

I have purchased the Charmilla beads at the World of Disney, in the Jewelry/Accessories. section

Pretty doubtful. If the bracelet is in good shape, a Chamilia authorized jeweler may exchange it for a smaller size. Just remember to take into consideration room for the beads when deciding what size you need.

I have a Chamilia also, as a gift from DH... My first two Disney beads came from DTD during a "trunk show"?

Thanks!

I'd hold onto it-it gets tighter as it fills up and you might be happy with the extra space.

Being in jewelry for 15+ years, yes you can resize them IF you are going shorter but
#1 being Sterling Silver - it may not be worth the expense of actually doing it over purchasing a new bracelet, especially if you've been wearing it for awhile, they do stretch out and eventually break so it may just be time for a new one.
#2 Like someone else said, depending on how many beads you have on the bracelet, if it's not already close to full you may find it "snugs" up as you get more beads/charms.
#3 Personally, I'd "re-gift" it to a friend/family member who might be interested in starting one and it would fit. I wouldn't wrap it up and pass it off as new - I'd be up front to the person your giving it to - you needed a different size that fit better and thought of them. As my daughter has grown, I've given her (too small) Pandora bracelet to her cousin.

They're not actually Pandora - but they fit on the Pandora bracelet. I think they sell them at almost every gift shop in parks/resorts!
