Mickey Mouse Jacket ?Value

HI all, I am a new poster and have just registered on this forum to see if I can get some of your learned members advice. I have been wondering where to go for an idea of value of a jacket I have. It is a black Suede Jacket Medium Ladies, never worn.. With a large emblem of a Mickey Mouse face on the back. It was not an item that was for general sale but rather only given out to staff members of Disney. It was given to my sister in law who was a financial adviser for Disney in the US. (I am in Australia) I have no idea where to go for this information. I am not a collector, and seems a waste to sit in my cupboard . Any information, appreciated ! Thankyou

Disney-themed jackets and other clothing doesn't usually command a collector's premium since Disney produces large quantities of them year after year. Cast Member items can be an exception, but there has to be a prominent marking of some kind - a patch with the department's logo or an embroidered department title (like "Imagineering" or "Animation"), - that indicates which arm of Disney the item belongs to in order for there to be any special value attached. Overall, you should probably expect the value to be the same as any similar jacket sold by Disney. The good news is that suede jackets aren't exactly cheap, and the "medium" size should have an ample market waiting. So you shouldn't have any difficulty finding a buyer. Good luck!

Thankyou very much for your reply.. definately makes sense to me ! I guess ebay would be the go then ! When I get home, I will search the item for any identifying marks other than the emblem. And perhaps take a photo if I can work out how to post it. Cheers Leah

Checked the jacket, and it says just on the emblem Team Disney along with Mickeys face
and the jackets tag inside says Disney & Co by Siricco size M

THe jacket is in new condition , never worn , except for the fact it has spent years in the cupboard !

My Iphone screen is smashed atm, so when fixed I will upload a photo, and prob try my luck on ebay

Well, the words Team Disney means it is indeed a cast member jacket. Some of those could have been distributed in very small editions, it just depends.

I have a suede and wool Disney jacket, that was LE numbered edition of 150. That was not even a cast member jacket (and yes, I wear it from time to time). I think many jackets like that sell for between $50-200+ It does have quite a range.

Your market is probably to sell it to a cast member, they would be the most interested in it. So make sure to list it that way on Ebay, using keywords like "Team Disney Cast Member exclusive jacket" etc etc.
