Just back from Disney last month. My DD was really excited to get a topper for our antenna - very easy to please. Anyway, it flew off the van yest. while my DH was driving. He said he was in an area where he was going 50 mph or a little less. So I'm wondering, is it worth getting another one if that will come off too? Was wondering if you all have any that stay put and mine was just a fluke?

Thanks! :)

I have several (pirate Mickey, Santa Mickey, Cindy's carriage), and go well over 50  and never had a problem.

We have the holiday set and haven't lost a single one.

I'd try again!

I have had a few and never lost one. I was sad when I bought my new car because it does not have an antenna and I can no longer use mine.:sad1:

My GF has had her Minnie one on her car antenna since our trip last August and it is still there, no problem.

we've never had an issue with ours falling off. we use to have a bright lime green one that we had on our car and it made it easy to find in the parking lots. the color faded after a few years and we got a new car and we still bring it with us because we consider it a good luck charm for the trip.

I have several and we drive well over 50! Never lost one while driving. Even survived super high winds and a hail storm driving the other night. Can't say as much for the hood and roof of my van though! :guilty:

We did lose 1 topper when my DH took it to have the oil change and they sent it through the car wash. :sad1: Now I always make sure to take it off when I go to a car wash or if my DH will be taking it in for anything since he'll never remember to take it off! :sad2:

Neither one of our cars has an antenna, so we've never bought one. :sad1:
However, I probably will this time due to this new trick I've learned. My MIL bought my husband a Denver Broncos antenna ball for Christmas last year, and he used a elastic hairband to hang it from his rearview mirror. Bring on the antenna balls!

I've had one stolen (the nice Christmas snowman one), I've had about 5 lost during car washes when the car was in for service. But, I've never lost one when driving. They are a very tight fit. Did you perhaps try to make the hole a bit bigger in some way??

Now that I have a new car, there is no antenna for it. Makes me really sad. But, there is one in the door pocket, just for luck.

We've had the same nasty-looking antenna topper for over five years, so it was probably just a fluke. Or, perhaps it was loosened somehow: car wash, branches, teenagers...lol. If you really liked it, give it another try.

This is all good to hear. Guess I'll be ordering some online this weekend. Well the problem may be that I let my DD put it on. Perhaps she didn't have it down all the way - I should have checked to make sure. I can't believe that I feel so sad about losing it. It's just not really the same ordering it online:sad2:

To keep them in place, a squirt of RTV sealant, dries clear, very flexible and waterproof, squirt some in the hole and push it on, wipe away the excess sealant and it should stay on forever.

I hate that newer cars don't have antennas. I miss having mine waving in the breeze.

they make nice ornaments on the christmas tree too!

I've been flying Mickey since Dec 06 with no issues. I had Stitch before that and I did lose him but that was a low hanging tree limb and not an issue with my precious Stitch.

You're not alone. When we lost ours in the car wash I was really sad, at the time it was our first and only one. I missed seeing my pink princess Mickey while driving. Next time we went to WDW I stocked up! Bought several so I can swap them out and I won't be devastated if one gets lost!

I don't know why we only bought one :confused3 I will def. buy a few online over the weekend.

Never lost one whilst driving, we have however lost three to thefts sadly :sad2: Two Grumpys and a Tink. One of the Grumpys was in fact stuck down with some kind of solvent because the previous one had been stolen, but the thief managed to pull it off. They must have really badly wanted it :sad2: My parents now don't buy them because of this.

the thefts must be a uk thing. we have lost several to theives and so have people we have bought them back for. our neighbours actually saw someone stop there car next to ours and pinch the topper off it was our christmas mickey one. we have a nemo left now and thats it

I thought they had started selling the toppers at the disney stores in the mall? so you wouldn't have to order online?

We're addicted to them; have a lifetime supply, and only lost one in over ten years. We currently have one from the 50th year celebration, and even after several trips through the car wash some of that gold sparkly stuff is still hanging on! ;)
