For Keeps- This is totally off topic, but is that a picture of a Scotty?ForKeeps said:Hi everyone,
I was perusing my wishbook yesterday to see if I could find other floral 'add ons' that I might want to consider and noticed that the cost of having 2 characters attend has increased in price from 1,070 to 1,200. Initially when I filled out the planning pages we asked for 2 characters (Mickey & Minnie) at the price of 1,070.
I still haven't received my invoice yet so I think I may be charged at the increase rate. I realize that prices are subject to change and that's fine, but if it is 1,200 that's getting pretty steep for 30 mins of interaction. 1,200 US = 1,400 in Canadian dollars. I was skeptical that it was worth it at 1,070 US...but now...I'm seriously thinking of cancelling. $1400 Canadian would pay for half a trip back to WDW for our 1 year anniversay.
Those people who have had Mickey & Minnie or other characters...was it really worth it???
p.s., I also noticed an increase in Cinderella's Coach to $2700...

I chose to have the MK portrait session over paying to have Mickey & Minnie show up for a few minutes. With our intimate wedding, I didn't really see much of a point and we didn't have a seperate reception or anything like that. I mean...I love Mickey, but I can go meet him any time and all the time with my park admission...haha! Now, pictures in your wedding dress at Cinderella's Castle...that's a once in a lifetime!![]()

Technically he's my parent's dog but I go home every weekend to play with him. He's just halarious...and yes...that is a golf shirt he's wearing. I found it at Old Navy, they have a whole line of clothing made for dogs and the idea of putting a Giant Schnauzer in a golf shirt was just too much for me to handle. I laugh out loud every time I see that picture. And strangely enough....he loves it. He struts around when he gets to put in on.
Here's another pic of us together

ForKeeps said:ITA! To be honest the only reason I added them on in the first place was because DF's face lit up when he found out they could come to the wedding. And so while I passed on the MK Photo shoot after A LOT of hmming and hawing (because in the end I didn't want to get up at that time in the morning the day after, or have him see me in my dress before)...I added the characters.
But after talking it through this weekend both DF and I decided it just was too much. It was great to have the support here on the boards. Everyone here has been such a great help!

Disney does photobooths?!?! I would absolutely love that. Are the pics in black and white? Is it like the ones at a Carnival? I read about them in a magazine and love the idea. This is soooo tacky, but what did they estimate the cost to be? I am sorry to ask, just so excited!sunsh1ne said:i was planning om having some extra things at my wedding i have some ideas: -the coach

Thanks! I will definitly look into this! This would be priceless. Great idea!sunsh1ne said:The photoboth is from an outside company but disney does allow them. The estimate i recieved was 2500 that was with unlimited pics and a site attendant and a cd with all the pics. i googled photoboooth rentals there are lots of company's
Thanks for the tip! I was looking through a bunch of the pics he did and was very impressed. My parents and I have been talking abut the added fees of bringing in an outside photographer- we thought it would be more expensive then using Disney photo because of the fees. Has anyne used him for an in-park reception?Maggimus said:From my experience-- sometimes your wedding coordinator will not charge you for the disney attendant with outside vendors. If you dont mention it, sometimes you wont be charged (Helpful hint that Randy Chapman gave me). I didnt get charged for him, and ofcourse, no one was with us while we had him. This might save you some money in the long haul- though you cant quite go expecting this.
SRUAlmn said:Randy Chapman told me that we would not be assessed the outside vendor charge because he is a 'preferred vendor.' I don't think they waive the fee for random vendors they've never worked with.
