Okay, so we're planning our at home Disney and my DF and I had the fabulous idea of trying to find the fabulous pair in LEGIT costumes to rent/hire for our reception. Does anybody know of any places in the tri-state area to do such a thing? Or if a Disney Store would have any more information in regards to where I could go? All I've been seeing is cheapie knock off costumes that make me want to cry. lol.

Any help is appreciated!!:worship::worship::worship:

check partypop.com they have lots of vendors and i think you can probably find who you're looking for there :)

how fun!!

unless you go through disney it ain't gonna be the real thing. not sure if that is something you can contract for wherever you are, but i can imagine the cost would make the ~$1300+ for 30 minute character visit look cheap!

i would be willing to go through disney, but i'm in new jersey so it's highly unlikely for that to happen. lol. i'm checking all options.

If you go through Disney your best bet is to go through Disney Character Events and see what they might be able to do. I've never seen it done but I know the characters do travel. I would warn you it will be expensive I'm sure!! GOOD LUCK!!! It would be cheaper to get married on the Cruise Line and have your characters:thumbsup2

Thanks girlie! I wish I could do that but DF is afraid to do a cruise because he got so seasick the one time.

Wah. :sad2:

hmmm...not sure how legit it is but their was a festival in a near by city a couple of weeks ago and they were advertising that mickey would be there. Adam and I looked at each other and were like "huh?" Its worth looking into for sure.

On Carly's party blog, she posted a 3-year-old's Mickey Mouse Clubhouse birthday party, and there were some Mickey & Minnie imposters there...

The party was in Texas, but I'm sure there's something similar near you.

Yes I did see those on her blog! They're a bit creepy with their uber large heads, but it could work??

This looks super creepy to me...:scared1:
They look like the super creepy ones that stand in times square and take pictures with tourists. I would never let my children go near them. lol I see them every day on my way to work and they look so mangy and dirty. They are all immigrants/illegals in the suits, and I see them change into their suits on the subway lol.

As to getting Mickey and Minnie, I would also suggest calling Disney or some character event place that do parties. I have friends who have had the princesses come to parties in the NY (rockland/Westchester county) area, not sure of who they used but I can try to find out for you.

1) um, wow
2) thank goodness they weren't creepy Americans?:confused3
Well it's true, they are all illegals. The cops know it but don't really do anything (and i know this because I have a lot friends that are NYPD). I wasn't trying to start anything, just stating the truth. Doesn't matter to me if it were illegals or American citzens, they are some of the creepiest costumes (not PEOPLE) you will ever see.

If you could find out I'd greatly appreciate it!

I totally know which characters you are talking about! ha. I HATE when I see them in NYC. Creeps me out major. I live in NJ and my wedding is on the beach so it may be a bit of a ride for the company that your friend had, but they may be able to refer me to someone else? Princesses are so much easier to replicate than the mice! :rotfl:
