Mickey, Minions & more. 2 week holiday. Updated 9/14 - FINAL THOUGHTS

Those time boards are a great addition I think. The downside is they might be setting themselves up for complaints if the bus is a minute late. :(

The AK lobby really is beautiful. One of the best I've seen I think. Even out of the holiday season it's phenomenal. But decorated for Christmas... just awesome.

Catching up again. Coming back from the trip and starting school immediately has kept me very busy. I loved seeing all the AK and AKL pictures. You got some good animal shots. I wish I could rewind time and be back there again. Eleven days in July was not enough. I did thirteen once, and that wasn't enough, either. Maybe I should try for 21 and see if that does it for me. :)

Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Lovely pictures. The windows of the gift ship are fantastic! :)
Thank you.

Great nemo shots. We saw it for the first time this year!
I love the photopass shots as well.
AKL is one of my favorite resorts so far. It's so pretty and peaceful there.
I want to do a longer stay there in the future.
Thanks.
We are thinking of buying in next year maybe. We shall see. :thumbsup2

AKL lobby is so pretty at Christmas time. Love the tree pics :goodvibes

Food looked good at restaurant :thumbsup2

I went in that store. I got my Disney purse there :goodvibes

Enjoy your weekend :yay:
They did decorate well.
The food was amazing. My favorite place.
:thumbsup2
Thanks we did.

Great updates, Scott.
Thank you.

You got terrific photos on the Safari, and lucky you seeing the lion awake (we never saw him at all in June).
I was shocked when we saw him. I think it was the second time we have seen him in all the trips.

Great photopass pictures throughout the updates.
Thanks

I'm with you...LOVE Flame Tree (Pizzafari is okay in a pinch...I just don't like Florida pizza in general).
Yeah, not crazy for the pizza but sometimes a little shake up is needed. LOL

Beautiful photos of Finding Nemo (we plan to do both shows in September).
Thanks

I was thinking of Saana for dinner, but Mark does NOT do spicy foods so that is out now after your description.
Some food is not spicy. I just love spicy so I order that.

AKL/Jambo was one of my favorite resorts decorated at Christmas.
:thumbsup2 mine too.

Have a great weekend on your little getaway.
Thanks. It was fun.

Beautiful. I love the African/AK theme of this part of WDW. And the food looks amazing.
:thumbsup2 Thanks. me too and it so was.

Great AKL pics, and we enjoyed their gift shop! The tree is huge, almost looks taller than the WL one WOW..Wishes and Illuminations from Saratoga :worship:

Enjoy your weekend!!!:lovestruc
Thanks.
it was very big. You might get to see the WL tree soon.
I was shocked when I saw it.
Thanks. We did/

Very nice AKL pictures. Your dinner sounds great, too. Very nice evening.
Thank you. it was delicious. it was very nice. :thumbsup2

They really are. Make you not get angry waiting for a bus. True.
:thumbsup2 Could not agree more.

I know the feeling.
Oh my! I could not do 21 days. 10 seems to be our limit I believe.

Caught up - I think!

Awesome picture of Vinny being surprised by Stitch! That's classic. Love it!

Love the decorations in Pizzafari. It's such a cute restaurant.

I can definitely see why you passed on Triceratops Spin.

I love the view from your villa. Great view of the pool.

Dinner at Sanaa looks delicious. That is one of my favorite restaurants.

Hope you had fun in Lake Placid. I bet its lovely there this time of year. :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 Wish I could say that. :lmao: I will be later this week.
:rotfl2: he did look it.
it is a cute restaurant and good to but do prefer Flame Tree.
:rotfl: I do like the ride but just was not in the mood.
it was a great room and location. I love that building and always request it.
We had a great time and the weather was perfect.

I am kind of embarrassed to post this but here is the time we got started.

Not sure if we swam in the morning or I did laundry.

I think it was because it was the end of the trip almost and things were winding down.

We walked up to the front.

So pretty.

The tree in the lobby.

The little tree by where kids can watch tv while adults check in.

We went to Artists palette for lunch. Here is Vinny waiting for his lunch.

Here is our order.
Okay the pics I took are all half eaten food so I will tell you instead.
  • Vinny:
  • Italian Hoagie - Salami, Mortadella, Ham, Provolone, Mixed Greens, Balsamic Vinaigrette, Red Onions, Pepperoncini, and Black Olives on a grilled Ciabatta Roll with House-made Chips or Vegetable Slaw $11.49
  • He did substitute it for soup and not chips or slaw.
  • Scott:
  • Meatball Sub with chips. I think this was the special of the day as I do not see it on the menu.
  • Both were good and I had a fuze iced tea.
Total = $18.64 with discount. Savings $4.74

Then we walked outside towards the pool.

Then we walked over to the bus stop. Here is a fountain shot while we waited.

Then looking at the building from the buss top.

So you know where you are. LOL.

Then I saw the balloon at DTD through the trees.

It looks like we went to DTD. But only to grab a bus to Dolphin/Swan.

Then we saw the Christmas Chocolate display again.

The trees.

Then we went outside.

We walked on.

Awards show prep.

Looking at the windows.

Then we were walking through International Gateway and going to have fun in Epcot.

Up next,

Do we have fun?

SSR looks like a really nice resort. And I wouldn't worry about the time of day you started out at. The main thing is that you have fun! :thumbsup2

Love the pictures. Sounds like a nice relaxing lunch. And who cares if you didn't get started until noon?? It's vacation!!!

Don't be ashamed for the late start..it's great to get some sleep IT'S VACATION :goodvibes Love the SSR pics, and the BW looks nice and empty..hoping you had some fun that afternoon at WS :goodvibes

I think leaving at noon on vacation, especially near the end, is a perfectly fine thing to do! The blessing of going more frequently is you lose the "need" to hit the parks hard early in the day. Sounds like a nice lunch!

it is a very nice resort. Nice and quiet.
Fun was had.

Yes it is. I won't be in Italy thought. :rotfl2:
You will see soon. :thumbsup2

That is so very true.

Soon enough we were walking past here and what a lovely view.

We did go in here to look around but bought nothing.

Okay so now I know what day this was. This was a Wednesday and we had lunch with Renee but she went back to the room and we had gone to Boardwalk for DVC Wednesdays. When we got there it was canceled because of the award show set up so we both got hats.

Here is Vinny with the hat we got.

I stopped off to listen for a minute.

Then I guess we were not full anymore as we had ice cream.

I had vanilla.

Vinny had a twist.

The total was $8.01

Then we moved onto Morocco.

Next we went to.

They had it decorated.

Then we went to see the show.

Looking down where they sing.

The crowd going in.

Looking at the side of the theater.

I did not take any of the show and enjoyed watching it. While walking out I took pics of the signs above.

Then we had to decide where to go.

Up next,

Move along or go back to resort?

Beautiful pics around Saratoga, Scott. I like how close it is to DTD (we've walked it a couple of times).

Sorry you didn't get to do the DVC Wednesday, but nice that you got a hat out of it.

That ice cream looks delicious...especially Vinny's because it has chocolate in it.

We really enjoy doing The American Adventure. It's an interesting show and a good place to rest.

Great shots around Saratoga :goodvibes

Bummer DVC was cancelled, but nice hat at least :thumbsup2

ice Cream looked yummy

Really need to get into see American show. We could not time it right our last trip

Another great update with more great pictures! We have been over to Saratoga Springs before but only for dinner and didn't have much time to explore. The grounds look so pretty.

I would love love love to have some of that ice cream right about now. I'd take either one....vanilla OR the swirl. Of course, I'd have a major headache afterwards (I'm allergic to milk.) but it'd probably be worth it.

I really want an ice-cream right now.

DVC Wednesday was cancelled and you got caps instead?? Bummer.
Did you enjoy American Adventure? I've only been inside once to see the show. Sadly, it was on the day after I landed in the US and I....um......fell asleep inside. So, I really don't know whether I liked the show or not.
(I can vouch for the decent airconditioning and comfy chair.)

I love vanilla ice cream :flower3: And I like the DVC hat, as always great pics of WS...like being there. I can't wait :cool1:

Thnaks. They had the walkway closed so no walking it while they do the construction for Disney Springs.
I was happy getting the hat. :rotfl2:
:thumbsup2

it was.
it is fun to see once in a while.

:thumbsup2 me too.
I was fine and happy with it. Less time in the building.
We do enjoy it just not every trip.

OK I'm caught up again, didn't even read updates on FB.

I saw the Nemo musical once and really want to do it again but Jim likes the Lion King better.

Sanaa looks good but one I will skip. I do not like spicy food or I should say it doesn't like me.

I like American Adventure but I need to do it early or I fall asleep. Dark and tired equals a nap for me.
