Mickey, Minions & more. 2 week holiday. Updated 9/14 - FINAL THOUGHTS

That tree at the Dolphin is really pretty! I love how they did that.

Thanks for your tour of the resorts! I hope to make it there at Christmastime someday!

Love Pop. Very festive :goodvibes

That tree is humongous at Dolphin. Never been in there. so cool getting a peak into all of these resorts :woohoo:

The Pop pictures are dear to my heart, of course. We started out value and stay mostly value still, and since Pop was our first on-site stay, it will always be special to us. Having said that, we very much understand why some people can't 'do' the values. We've stayed moderate, deluxe, and DVC, and boy, are they nice! Who couldn't love the nicer décor and the amenities?!?!? If I could do Beach Club or AKL every time, I imagine I would! When I have my house paid off and can afford to buy some DVC points, I plan to get a few, and we will enjoy them immensely. We might stay mod and deluxe more then, too, but for the ability to take more trips and longer trips within a teacher's budget, I am happy to stay value. We really like Art of Animation, too, with its newer, cleaner feel. We would probably do suites there quite often if they had doors that opened to the outside or balconies.

As much of a shopper as I am, I didn't make it through the Pop gift shop in December to see all the fun Christmas stuff. The one night Jill wheeled me to AoA to try to see the tree, she asked if I wanted to look through that gift shop, but I couldn't. I just wanted to get back in the bed.

Resort hopping is one of my favorite things to do in WDW, so I am very much enjoying your photo walk fun. In every group of pictures, I can so easily smell the smells and hear the sounds of that particular resort. The trouble with my resort love now is that I feel like I have to visit every resort on every trip, and fitting that in does not often work. I get in most of them, though. I will resort hop many afternoons when the girls go back to the room for naps. I just love the different atmospheres and experiences at each one, and I feel like I have been so many different places in one short period of time.

WOW! Great white poinsettia tree at the Dolphin.

We've dropped off a car at the Dolphin as well. It's a very convenient spot, isn't it?

Thanks for the busman's tour of the resorts. I really need to allow a day or two to get round to seeing them at some stage.

I have been so busy at work and trying to get my packing started, I've not been on the DIS in what seems to be ages.
I can understand that. Jealous about the packing.

I'm a few resorts behind here.
:lmao:

I really like the looks of the Caribbean Beach. It is a beautiful resort, but the small beds and the theme have had us not stay there (we go to the beach after our annual trip so I don't want that theme at Disney). They did a nice job on the Christmas decorations.
I will stay there eventually. I think this years points we are banking and then next year will be a nice dvc trip.

We have visited POR-Riverside and POFQ, but not stayed there either. If we did a moderate again and couldn't get CSR, we'd only do Riverside...I really like the theme of the resort (those masks at POFQ throw me off). We've eaten once...a very long time ago...at Riverside's counter service. We hated Boatwright's...it was downright nasty and we were there 2-1/2 hour sbecause they "forgot" about us and our beeper, service was terrble and so was the food.
Riverside is my favorite. Just love it there. Boatwright's is not good. It was the first time we went but last time it was leftovers.

Congrats on the new car. As you know, Mark has an Altima and he loves it.
Thanks. I do know that. :)

We were ninja posting (I commented on your previous resort posts--CBR and the two POR's).
:lmao:

We popped over to Pop for the VERY first time last year, I think. Since we don't do values, we never find a reason to go. But we had some time to kill and stopped in.
That is Vinny's favorite resort for a cheap stay. He loves it there and with his Upper West Side NYC attitude I am shocked he does.
I LOVED that tree at the Dolphin. I thought it was absolutely stunning.
It was.

What a fun day just touring the resorts, many of which I've yet to see. It makes me wish I'd added more time to that. PLUS I love all the welcome mats. I'm a bit obsessed with them.

And now my lovely POP Century Resort and Spa!!!

Um, who thought the headless mannequin was a good idea??? I feel it should be riding a horse leading the Boo to You parade. :scratchin
We love taking days like that. We have done the rides so many times so might as well see other things now. me too. I love those mats.
Spa? :rotfl2: That is funny.
:rotfl2: That is so true. It was not a good idea.

That tree at the Dolphin is really pretty! I love how they did that.

it was beautiful. I hope you do too, it is really pretty to see.

It was certainly that.
It is HUGE. We only really go there when we rent a car. :thumbsup2

I know how much you love POP.
I enjoy all the resorts. Mostly we do DVC because we have the points but I like them all.
I hope you get a DVC soon. It is cheaper to rent dvc points then to stay at a regular resort or at least it was for us in December.
AofA I would d a suite if it was cheaper. At that price I could rent point sin a dvc.

:sad1: You need a do over Christmas trip.

It was gorgeous.
It certainly is.
They are fun to go and see, even if it is only a couple at a time.

Hello and welcome to my pre tr inside of my tr. In September we are taking a 16 day trip to Italy/Paris and of course Disneyland Paris.

Let me introduce everyone to you.

I am Scott (obviously you know this being it is in my tr) and my husband is Vinny. We have now been married for 2 years and in 2 days have been together for 13 years. This will be our second trip to Europe together with the first being London/Paris in 2009.

Here we are on our most recent trip to WDW in December 2013.

When we traveled in 2009 we went with Vinny’s sister Donna and her husband Mark. Best travel companions as they go with the flow. Here they are.

But they are not the only ones traveling with us this time. Another sister of Vinny is coming with us. Barbara and her husband Jeff. If you read my first tr back in 2007 then you know Barbara. Or if we are friends on Facebook then you should know her from the pics last year to Aruba or Long Beach Island.

But we are still not done as we have another traveler with us, Lorraine. If you go back to 2007 trip she was there and also in Aruba(it was her timeshare we stayed at).

That is the cast for this trip. It should be a fun and adventurous trip. We have tours set up and of course we are really excited for the food.

The dates for the trip are 9-18-10/4. We leave at night on the 18th and we are flying out on.

I am looking forward to flying on the airline as I mostly fly Jetblue.
We arrive on the 19th early in the morning and that information will be in the next update.

Up next,

Where are we going first? Here is a clue. A pic of the places we are going.

I will not be posting updates on FB for when I post so look in the links on the first page for new updates.
