I just got the BEST call from Jaki....Disney waived their dreaded ROFR on my resale purchase at OKW!!! I can breathe after 3 weeks of anxiety!
Here are the details, which will hopefully help those who are in the position I was in:
$73 per point, I pay closing and maintenence for 2003.
210pts, October use year
30 pts. banked from 2001 (expire Sept. 30th...can we say quick trip!!
210pts banked from 2002
All points for 2003 coming in October!
Whoo-hooo, 420pts for the first year and the home resort I REALLY wanted!!
Here is the time line:
Sunday 6/15/03: Made offer in the p.m. Offer accepted that night.
Monday 6/16/03: Contracts signed. Overnighted deposit.
Friday 7/11/03: Jaki notifies me of ROFR waiver. She told me the title company actually found out on Tuesday, but that because of a new staff doing the ROFR (the woman who was doing it before retired on 6/28) she wasn't notified and didn't find out until tonight.
I'm bouncing right off the walls right now! Jaki is wonderful, always keeping me updated with emails, even when she had not found out anything, and accepting my offer and working up the contract on the Sunday evening that I emailed her. I've already told her to keep an eye out for me...I'll probably be adding 100 pt or so more in about 6 months...The DVC fever has struck!!
