Mickey inflatable vandalized...

I am disturbed by the story of the group of girls who got caught, and how only the 17 year old driver had to pay because the rest were "underage", did I read that right? If one of my kids was involved in this I'd be making them pay as well, regardless of age. Sounds like some lawyers or rich parents made a stink.
Good luck with your inflatable. I really wanted to buy one of these (Snoopy dressed like a pilot on his doghouse) at 50% off yesterday, but DH talked me out of it. There is less and less respect for people and property these days. If a kid thinks something is "funny" he or she needs that inner voice saying "No, it's wrong to vandalize", and some parents just aren't helping kids develop that voice anymore.

So sad, but I am beginning to rethink decorating the outside of my house anymore. This may be the last year. Either that or the decorations will have to go on the roof where vandals can't get to them.

Funny thing is...we live in such a small town (10,000) that you wouldn't think of stuff like this, guess I have been proved wrong :guilty:

Thank you to everyone who has offered ideas on how to clean Mickey :goodvibes

Well the underage girls were taken into the police station, along with their parents, but since they were 15 or 16, legally they can't do anything to them because they are minors. The 17 year old boy was actually put in the jail cell because he was of age, and his father was the only one to come up to my husband and apologize for what happened and offered to pay for the damage. We had the option of pressing charges on the 17 year old boy or not and we chose not to since he wasn't really the one who did the damage, although he was definatley the accomplace. I was most mad at the girls because they actually had the nerve to peer into our front window where my girls were watching tv to make sure that no one was looking while they were trying to steal the mickey. My neighbor saw them and was screaming at them, but they didn't seem to care. My husband and I told the police that we were most upset because they "invaded" our property and private space, but the police kept assuring us these were "good kids" that were just doing something stupid and out of character. It is true that money probably has something to do with it, this is an area where people have a lot of money, and they try to keep crime very "quiet".

My 16 yr old nephew walked through my yard and ripped the chords right off our snowman. He never came in the house and told us, we just saw his tracks. I took the snowman back to Menards and got my $30 backs.

About 5 years ago, h.s. kids started humping peoples deer. In WI people have deer out year round, but at Christmas it gets really crazy with humping deer. Last year a group of 5 boys got caught doing it. They tried to out run the local village police office. The driver of the car ended up with almost $1,000 in fines. Each of the boys got it for trespassing and making a lewd and lavious statement on someone elses property.

That's terrible!! So sorry! Someone came by and took a knife to our $100.00 snowglobe inflatable. It is terrible!

Mine has a small hole in it, but it could have been made form being stuck tot he grouond when it was icy, so I can't claim vandalism. I put a piece of clear tape over it, so ti seems to be OK now.

any luck yet getting it cleaned?

Nope...

I have tried everything suggested. The only thing left on the list is the "goof-off". Gonna go to Home Depot and pick some up. Guess thats the last thing I can do.

:love2: Thank you for asking
