MICKEY in MK

Is there any other Mickey in the MK that my daughter can meet that does NOT talk? I have spent the last 3 months trying to explain to my 4 year old the Mickey cannot talk to her, because he only speaks "mouse" and speaks on the TV only.

And I don't want her to meeting "talking" Mickey first and then question why every other Mickey's she meets can't "talk".

Help. Thanks.

Another issue about your explanation to your daughter is that at MK, Mickey speaks during Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade, he talks in the opening show in the morning and on the castle stage show. So If you don't want her to see talking Mickey avoid those three shows.

I'm not sure what the official explanation is, as to why Mickey talks at MK, but it could be because of all the magic...you could tell her that.

Just tell your daughter to expect that anything can happen in the "Magic Kingdom"... even a mouse speaking in a way we can hear & understand!

The magic storyline is actually the explanation intended... at MK he dresses as a Magician, so he is able to provide a little extra magic for the Guests.

You could tell her that, under the magic casted in Disney World, when Mickey talks, it sounds just like we do. This way, it's emphasized that, other than the TV, he "talks" in Disney.

So I took DGrD10 to see Talking Mickey at MK last week for the first time (talking, that is). I decided to surprise her, since I didn't want her to be disappointed if he wasn't talking on the day we were there. She has been going to WDW with us since she was 5 mos old 1 - 3 times per year, so she's very character loving and savvy.
I could never have imagined the reaction she had! LOL Mickey was singing when we entered and she was SO stunned she was a like a deer in headlights. It makes me laugh now, but at the time I didn't know what was wrong with her - she was acting like she was afraid of him - and she kept backing away! I actually felt sorry for Mickey LOL, so I gave him some extra love and attention and told him what a great singer he is. When we finally got out of his room, she said she hated Mickey talking and it totally "creeped me out".
Now, she really does still love Mickey and I thought hearing Mickey talking and singing was great - I love it! It'll grow on her, I'm sure, and she'll be fine - just a warning to maybe not surprise your Mickey lovers with this one. LOL

Yes, it was officially announced on October 21st although he had been meeting guests for awhile. Talking Mickey only talks at Town Square Theater in MK when he is feeling up to it...as in, there is still a possibility of meeting "classic" Mickey.

Did not realize that "talking" Mickey was not permanent. Although, who knows, by February, he just might be.

At least there might be a chance to meet classic Mickey.

Talking Mickey is permanent it's just that with all the tech involved, he just may not be able to talk at times.
