Mickey heads and the inkjet printer?!?

Has anyone run their AGMHPC thru the inkjet printer with any success? I have plenty of success running it thru the printer and getting exactly what I want on the Mickey head.. but the ink doesn't want to STAY on the paint chip.

Any tips? Am I just not letting it dry long enough? Can I do something to the Mickey head to get the ink to stay? I'm printing my screen name on it - all fancy like - and I'm going to laminate it at work tomorrow, but I don't want to find it all smeared and icky after I've laminated my last two precious alien green Mickey head paint chips!!!

If the surface is too shiny, the ink will not set. I've found that with the back of some photo paper. I printed pictures of DD and attempted to print her resume on the back. No good. The ink would not set on the surface. After hours, it still smeared.

Darn. Not the answer I was hoping for!

I thought I had some clear labels around here... can't find 'em. But I did find a page of clear "decals" which seems to work like window clings. I printed on that... it seems to be sticking to Mickey's head well enough to make it to work tomorrow and have it laminated all together.

When I get it all done, I'll take a picture!

I printed on mine with my inkjet printer and it came out ok. The printing was slightly uneven coverage, but I let it set overnight and it did not smear. I even put tiny pictures of Mickey Mouse over my name and they came out clear and smudge-free. Maybe get some other colors to practice on, and try letting them set flat for a long time? The clear label idea should work well also. I ended up making some last-minute ones by printing my name with my labelmaker on clear label tape and sticking that on, then laminating the whole shebang. They came out pretty good!
