I have finally come up with 2 favors to give out when we get back. The first will go to my FDH employees and those I work with. We ordered 10 lbs of white disney shaped mints. And the others we are giving to close friends and family. They are customized M & Ms in cream, white, and black. Actually, the cream is a lite pink. Very pretty. Well, we are going to end up wrapping them in little tulle bunches. The problem is favor tags. I am not crazy about the ones you can order. I was thinking of using a whale of a punch~the big Mickey head one. I could punch it into pretty card stock that has been preprinted with our names and wedding date on it. Then take a smaller punch to make a hole to loop the ribbon through. Make any sense? If anyone has a better idea, PLEASE, let me know :confused3
I was thinking of using black ribbon. I am stumpped right now.

Thanks!!!

I don't have any experience with the large paper punches but it sounds like it would work wonderfully! I would probably test a piece of cardstock first, just in case it's too thick or something doesn't work right before I printed out all of them.

I assume this is the one you're going to use

http://www.collectedmemories.com/cg...re.woa/wa/details?comp=CategoryPage&feat=1181

It seems like it's heavy duty enough and would be great!

That site also gives you tips:

"Use light pencil lines to align punch area with centerline marks on top and sides
Lubricate punches by punching through waxed paper a few times.
Sharpen punches by punching through aluminum foil several times."

If you didn't want to preprint them, or it was difficult getting your names and date centered properly, you could do black paper with a silver or white paint pen- it might look nice with your color scheme. Maybe a silver or white ribbon if you did it with the black paper, though.

Are you using the smaller Mickey punch for the other hole or just a regular hole puncher? Where are you planning on putting the little hole? Overall, I think it's an adorable idea- you just have to fill in the details. :cheer2:

I just looked at the site the poster above had...

Wouldn't the whale of a punch be awfully big? Or are you going to have huge packets?

The medium punch looks like it might work better... or maybe I'm thinkin' too small? Laugh.... :confused3

Excellent idea about the black paper!!! I love that idea....how cute!
I am going to use the mini punch to put a hole....somewhere?? Then use a satin ribbon to tie the tag and tulle bunch together. So, you don't think that the silver ink pen won't look to tacky? I like the idea...its sooo cheap! Will be making about 150-200 of these things. I guess I could play around with it some. Would love to find a place that makes custom rubber stamps, that way I could have our names and date in the disney font.

I never thought about it being to big. Hummm....maybe I should look at the med. one.

If you use the black paper, you might be able to play around with your computer to get your names/date to line up to make however many tags you want to fit on each page - you could download the Disney font and print in white or light grey to similar silver type - then cut out the tags, fold them and use the large mickey head punch so that your names/date show through.

Maybe silver calligraphy pen? I also like the rubber stamp idea- go to a local stationery store- we have one in my town that's been here 100 years- they do them really cheap- or else try colorfulimages.com they have them too. If you do the rubber stamp you could get silver embossing powder and they would look VERY professional with the raised silver Disney lettering! Stamping takes a little practice to get it perfect (no inked edges) but I think that would be just gorgeous!

I was able to find several sites that I could personalise, but not with Disney font. Any ideas????

it's a little tricky, but silver heat-transfer foil looks really nice.

www.texascraft.com is where I got mine.

you have to use either a copier or a black and white laser printer.

Oh, here's a tip for centering your text on the mickey, turn the punch upside down so you can "eyeball" it. I don't have any pics uploaded, but they turned out really nice! I think the whale punch is the perfect size.

good luck!

Hi
Could you tell me where you got the disney shaped mints, they sound like a great idea. We are looking for ideas to theme our reception in the UK when we arrive home form getting married at Disney
Thanks

I gave up...way to many things to do prior to wedding and I am sick!!!
I am guessing its the typical fall allergy/virus thing that I get every year.
At least I have time to recover. I ended up designing my own cards with designyourowncard.com . I had originally thought to make a rubber stamp, print them on paper and use the mickey punch. Well, I decided that I really liked the professional look and EASE of just having business cards made. They are 3 1/2 x 2 inches, but have the type set that I can cut them down. They looked beautiful. A soft white linen card with raised silver script lettering. VERY CLASSY! Then I bought a small mickey head punch at the craft store. I will just punch a mickey head n the corner of the card to tie the ribbon onto. The others were cuter, but the cost was adding up way too much. I ended up with 500 cards for $30.00!

I ordered them off of the website candywarehouse.com . Do a search for Disney and they should pop up. I also like the solid color round mickey heads, but after my FDH looked at them he said NO WAY.. We both are nurses and work with chemically addicted patients: the mickey head looked like a POPULAR RAVE DRUG!! I really didn't want to give those out to our collegues;-)!!!! The white mints are so wedding like anyway!
