Tourist Attacks Mickey Mouse
Sunday, January 18, 2004

Above: Mickey Mouse suffered minor injuries during the attack by Doe.

Anaheim, CA - Disgruntled, and assumed insane tourist, John Doe, was apprehended by Disneyland security last Thursday when he began to beat on the beloved Mickey Mouse character, long-time icon of the Disney franchise.
The incident occured while Mr. Doe and friends were walking down "Main Street, USA," a popular area of the Disneyland park, where many of the life-sized, costumed characters greet and interact with visitors. Apparently Doe did not welcome the approach of Mickey Mouse, and reacted violently to the mouse's popular "love hug."

John grabbed Mickey around the neck and held him in a wrestler's choke hold while repeatedly punching him in the face and gut. Children screamed as the beloved icon fell to the ground, where Doe continued to kick the character in the groin.

Within moments, park security converged on the disturbance and restrained John, while other officers pulled the downed Mickey to safety. Mr. Doe was quickly cuffed and thown into the park's holding room, while Anaheim police were called to remove and arrest the disgrunted park visitor.

John Doe has since filed a lawsuit agaist The Walt Disney Co. for sexual harassment by Mickey Mouse, and for wrongfull expulsion from the park. He's suing for $10,000,000 plus a credit for $44.95 (entrance fee to the park, lost during the incident).

Parents of children who witnessed the event are encouraged to have their children call a special counseling hot-line set up by the Disney Company, (714) 555-4000.

Alas these attacks actually occur in real life from time to time and therefore the monarch in the kingdom of the mouse needs an entourage, which is usually hidden and fortunately usually comes to his aid quickly. If only they could do a better job of maintaining order along the ropes during parades as Mickey makes his way down the street.

>>> Jan. 18, 2004 ... has since filed ...

Did the Walt Disney Company file its countersuit against John Doe for assault and battery against an employee, and disorderly conduct, prior to the close of court business on Sunday Jan. 18, 2004?

LOL! That's a great post. Thanks for the laugh!

Sexual harrassment? What a joke.

Anyone in their right mind who didn't want a hug would remove himself from the scene or say no thank you.

Let's hope there is a judge out there who will give this guy some jail time.

Disney should sue for court cost and go out and find the most expensive lawyer they can find.

It's too bad we don't have the same system other free western countries have. You sue and lose the case you pay the defendants cost to defend. At least that would take care of the suing part of this.

It IS a joke! A farce, a parody...it's not real.

(And I believe Disney already has some excellent lawyers on their payroll.) ;)

I was worried that someone might take this seriously...

OK, you've had your fun - anyone heard any real news?

Nah, no need to drag them out of the park, just chain them up inside Its a Small World for the day. After 10 hours of listening to that song over and over again, there would be absolutly no risk of them wanting to return to the park to cause trouble ever again. It would be a cheap and effective deterant (even if it did leave the offender with a slight nervous tick for the rest of his or her life).

Or what about trapping them in Dinorama...they'll wonder how they left WDW and ended up in a Cheap Carnival.......it will seem like they entered the Twilight Zone......

1) I don't think you can do this.
2) Didn't the Supreme Court rule this "cruel and unusual"?

If this is supposed to be a joke, it's NOT funny!!!!!! My DD works as a character at WDW, and the characters on occasion do get "attacked" by park guests. DD was once pummelled by SIX teen-age boys while she did a 'Meet and Greet' as Rafiki!! Fortunately, her "Greeter" came to her rescue and she wasn't physically hurt--only badly shaken. Many guests get carried away forgetting that there are real people inside those costumes--and not all those people are, young, strong males!! Thank heavens for the wonderful work by the Disney "Greeters"--because there a lot of crazy people in this world.

Thanks for the critique!

PKK/MJK, I don't know quite what to say.
It's simply a satirical article someone emailed to me.
It's not really THAT funny, but it is humorous and goes with the RUMORS and NEWS thing so I posted it.
I'm sorry that it upset you.
