Mickey and the Monduhrail! The Stitchs' World Tour! Update 11/1!

Joining in !! Your DS's funny smiles are so cute. Mien did that, too when they were little. My DD9 still does a funny smile at times.

What in the world was the CM thinking telling you take your DS on Dinosaur ?? Wha ?? :confused3 Obviously, they did not have children. My tongue would have had teeth marks in it for a week !!

That CM seems crazy! Clearly she's never dealt with a terrified 3 year old before.

That moment with Mickey made me want to cry. How sweet! Those are the moments that you can only get at Disney!

We've managed to avoid the Boneyard so far, but Maddie is eager to try it. We just usually give her the option of doing that or meeting characters and characters always win. :rotfl:

GREAT Stitch picture! I love all of your pics though, he is too, too cute.

Sad you didn't get to hop on Everest - I recently discovered during our last trip that I like EE a whole lot more than I thought I did!

I'm always a little confused when the Photopass Photogs try and get a picture as I'm leaving AK (I don't need more sweaty tired photos of myself thank you!) but yours came out pretty good!

Can't wait to see where dinner is! I'm thinking Ohana?

Um, clearly this CM doesn't have kids of her own! What the what was she thinking?!

I rode Dinosaur! once... and that was one time too many for me! :scared:

We have never visited The Boneyard. I didn't know anything about it on our first trip, and then on our second I figured my kids were too old for it (they were 7 and 9 at that time)... thought it was geared more towards "little" kids but it looks like they would've liked it! Bummer we skipped it...

That's what I thought about the CM when she first suggested it. When she kept on, I was just thinking, "Let IT go!!" The Boneyard was definitely great--I saw a lot of kids who were 10 or 11 or so. It has several seating areas for parents, but where you can see everything! That wouldn't work with a little guy, but does with that age!

I agree that CM doesn't have kids....I;ve never ridden it so can't comment on the scariness of it, but don't think a small child would like it at all!

great pics, D looks like a happy boy in the boneyard!

so nice your favorite friend popped in on your PP photos :lmao:

He was definitely a happy boy! He kept wanting to go back! Wasn't it super nice for Stitch to be there?? He's so busy, I was glad he could work us in! :rotfl2:

The Boneyard has always been a huge hit for our kids too!

I'm with you on Dinosaur. We've been shielding DD from Dinosaur as well because we know she would be freaked out by it. As of now, she doesn't want to even try PotC!

D wouldn't do PotC either. He's not much for anything dark or where there is surprising stuff! The Boneyard is great, isn't it?

That cheesy smile is on his face almost all the time! :rotfl2: Trust me, my tongue definitely did! I kept talking about it when we walked off, and Brian was like, "It's OK!!! You don't have to take him on it!" It was just one of those Momma things! ;)

That moment with Mickey was why we keep going to Disney! ;) Dalton so loves the characters--much like Maddie! ;) I know I always have 5 million character pics, but he loves it so much!

I bet the characters win over Boneyard! They would for me, too! D isn't much for a lot of the rides, though, so it's Boneyard and characters for us!

Thanks for the compliment on Stitch. . .definitely nice of him to join us!

I love EE (or I did 5 years ago!), and I hated that we didn't get to do it this time!

I know what you mean about the PhotoPass pics. The problem is that when we have a early breakfast, there's never a photog there, so I'm stuck with sweaty pics! :rotfl:

Dinner update will be tomorrow. . .you just might be right! ;)

Thanks, y'all, for reading along!!

I think you are eating at Ohana's too, know you LOVE it!!!

Megan was all about the characters too until she reach 7-8 ,...now its like pulling teeth to do it...so I'm sneaky and we do the character meals and will only stand in line for a new character or if they are in a different outfit

I like your sneaky plan! I will probably implement that too! ;)

Update coming below!

Stitchs Dining in Paradise!

After our fun, hot day at Animal Kingdom, we came back, took a nap, freshened up, and then it was off to one of our favorite dinners!

‘Ohana, here we come!!

IMG_1066-1.jpg

We were at the bus stop about 4 for the 5 pm ADR. I took advantage of the little bit of wait time to take some pictures of D.

The bus came pretty soon after that, and we were off to the Magic Kingdom! Well. . .not really, but we did wave at it as we walked by the entrance headed to the MONDUHRAIL!!!

Before I talk about the food, I should warn you. . .we LOVE ‘Ohana. I mean, LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Our ADR planning usually starts like this, “We have x number of TS credits. So we go to ‘Ohana and where else?” :rotfl:

This time was no different! We got to the Poly to check in, and I went right up to the check in stand. Only. . .wait a minute. . .it’s not there. Where did it go? So, I went up to a CM server and she said, “It’s on the other side.” Ok. . .not sure when that happened, but back I went to the other side! That’s a tight area there! It was always crowded the other way, and I always felt like I was on top of the Kona diners (like they were zoo animals. . .”Behold, on the left, the eater of the Kona Kone”). . .ANYWAY (the word you were looking for there), the line up on the other side was one line to check in and another, roped-off, line for people hoping to get a reservation. I finally got us checked in and within about 10 minutes, we were on our way in!

D was so impressed by the “big grill” and all of the fire! He kept wanting to go back and watch them cook. The guys were really great and kept talking to him!

Our server was Chris, and he was TERRIFIC! He asked first thing if D wanted anything other than what they were serving. I asked if he could have. . .wait for it. . .chicken and fries, and he told me it would be no problem. They were actually on the table by the time our first course arrived!

IMG_1079.jpg

D loved the bread, too, and wanted to keep it for his very own! Brian and I had other ideas about that bread! ;)

IMG_1078-1.jpg

IMG_1077-1.jpg

Everything was wonderful as usual. My absolute favorite thing about that meal (OTHER THAN the dessert!) is the wings. I could eat plates and plates of those! I didn’t, though, because I wanted to save room!

If you’ve never been to ‘Ohana, they have singing and games for the kids. D isn’t really into all of that, so he just wanted to sit at the table and watch.

When it got to dessert time, Chris brought our dessert AND a birthday cupcake for D. D was SO excited!

IMG_1081-1.jpg

He blew out the candle, and then, just like at Chef Mickey’s, he wanted to blow the candle out repeatedly and “make wishes” for everyone!

After dinner, we took a few pics around the Polynesian. I just think it is a beautiful resort!

IMG_1082.jpg

(LOVE that pic!)

IMG_1086.jpg

We headed back to Wilderness Lodge after that, went to our room, changed clothes, and went to the quiet pool to swim. I don’t have any pics of this—I think I was still in a meat coma from ‘Ohana! We came back to the room after about an hour, and the guys went down to refill our mugs. They also came back with me a “surprise”—a Wilderness Lodge baseball cap! I loved it! I was already looking forward to wearing it the next day! (Insert the mental “duh-duh-duh-DUH” of foreshadowing).

Next up: A Magical Day at the MK!

yes, sometimes us mama's have to be sneaky to get what WE want :)

ah, knew that's where you were heading!

now don't hate me, but we really didn't like Ohana's :duck: I'm not a wings person, don't like shrimp...so some of the food I passed on...did love the bread and dessert though :thumbsup2 and of course loved the look and feel of the resort:goodvibes
love the photo of your guys with their scrunchie faces!

Hi  I know I'm joing in very late but I just stumbled onto your trip report. I'm just to the point in your trip where you got to your room. I just have to say I love the faces your son makes. He's adorable.

Ok, back to reading for me.

Okay, first of all, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU YOU CRAZY CM?!?! Dinosaur is crazy scary!! Quinn rode it last year (he was 5) and he was okay going on (we didn't force him or anything) but he freaked out and cried the whole way through. :( It was awful. I would never tell someone to take their kid on that ride if they didn't want to go. It's really dark, loud and downright frightening. Geez.

Second, I wish we had had your server when we went to 'Ohana since no one ever even hinted to me that we could have ordered other food for Quinn. :( That bums me out so bad. He wouldn't eat anything and I had no idea you could ask for items off the menu, and our server was not helpful at all, so Quinn barely ate. I wanted to love 'Ohana so much, and the food that I ate really was wonderful, but so many other things made it a terrible experience for us. BUT this is YOUR trip report, not mine. SO I will be quiet now and say hooray for an awesome dinner!!! :)

So cute that D wanted to make wishes for everyone and blow the candle on the cupcake out repeatedly. What a precious little boy!!

You know me! I can definitely see, though, how you didn't like 'Ohana if you don't like shrimp and stuff! But that dessert is definitely something else! Thanks for the compliments on my silly guys!!

Hi! Welcome aboard!! D is definitely a hoot! I'm glad to have you reading along!!

Ok, see that part in caps about "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU YOU CRAZY CM"? That was SO what I was thinking! You put it perfect words!

I'm sorry your 'OHana experience wasn't good. :( Sometimes we've had servers there that weren't good, and that makes it hard to love it, too. As for the chicken, we found that out about 2 years ago (the summer right before D turned 2). "Cousin Joe", our server at 'Ohana, saw that D was not gonna eat the food and offered to bring him nuggets and fries. I asked if that was ok, and he leaned down and said, "Disney secret: you can get that ANYWHERE, on the menu or not". It's been helpful on lots of occasions! Definitely try that for Quinn next time (at any restaurant!). :goodvibes

Yeah, D is all about sharing his wishes--I think it comes from being an only child! If he had siblings, I'm sure he'd be not so for that. . .like Bri and I were with our siblings! :rotfl2:

Soooo glad you shared that secret. I think I'll be using that one. Kaitlin will eat most meat (we just tell her it's chicken no matter what it is ;)) but it would be nicer to have something I know she will eat. Love the squishy faces on D and Brian. I love that you are sharing so many pictures. (from the disney life and real life.)

First to the rest of AK: My four yo niece realllllly wanted to do Dinosaur, it's the ride we watched a million times on youtube. Unfortunately when we got to the ride they said she was to small (though she was tall enough for the other rides of the same height requirement--poor thing). I love riding with her mom cause we scream at the dinosaur, so not sure how little one would have done anyways. But she wanted to go on it, I think that CM was nutso!
So jealous of all of your photo pass pics at AK, of course it rained big time on our day so they were never out :(

And YES--yummo to the Ohanas dinner. I was so glad that after eating there and Kona, we only had to walk to our room. The only thing I didn't eat/try was the shrimp--I do not like them sam I am. But everything else was wonderful!! Really loved the noodles and green "trees" ;)

I had dinner at 'Ohana for the first time last summer... LOVED it! Can't wait for my family to try it. Mmmmm, I still think about that salad. And the wings. And pot stickers. So delicious!

Uh-oh, I'm worried about what happened to your hat... :worried:

Love your pics with D and the ones with him waiting for the bus while holding a Disney bus toy! :goodvibes The one with your DH making the "cheese" face with D in Ohana was pretty good too.

That secret has saved us many times! I'm glad it will help you! I am probably way picture-heavy, but I always like to see trip reports with lots of pics! I'm visual, so it helps me follow along! I hope I'm not boring y'all silly with pics!

Ok, next time, we must coordinate trips and meet at 'Ohana...I'll eat your shrimp and you can have my noodles! :rotfl2: about the trees! That's what we call them too!

I'm sorry it rained your whole AK day. . .bleh! But at least you're in the Happy Place!! Your niece is definitely braver than me. . .i cannot get my nerve up for Dinosaur!

That update is coming tomorrow! There's one more before it! 'Ohana is one of those meals I think about while on the treadmill, for motivation. Sad, but true! :rotfl2:

He's all about those Disney buses--even now! One goes everywhere we go! Thanks for the compliments--I am all about the silly pics! :lmao:

Ok. . Update coming after I get everyone through with showers and ready for the week! :thumbsup2

Good Morning, and WELCOME TO THE MAGIC KINGDOM!!!

Magic Kingdom did not have EMH this morning, so I slept til 6 am, and the boys slept til 7 am. We ate breakfast in the room, and then we headed to MK!

We got to watch the opening show (that is the best start to the day!)

IMG_1204.jpg

IMG_1206.jpg

After the show was over, we were off and into Magic Kingdom! First stop, Town Hall for Mickey and Minnie! We were so on a mission, that we ended up being the first regular family in line for Mickey.

D was so, so excited to see them!

Mouse-bonding session over? Time to hit the park!

But first. . .castle/Main Street pics!

Photo0196FourBySix.jpg

We were headed down Main Street USA on the way to our next destination, when we happened upon one of the coolest things we’ve ever gotten to see. The Magic Kingdom fire truck was out (one of the drivers was driving it in the hub), but she had had to stop when the park opened. She was trying to get the firetruck moved so it wouldn’t be in castle pics. However, D had other ideas! He wanted to ride the firetruck!

She seemed like she was shocked that anyone wanted to have their pics made with it, and a PhotoPass photog came over to get some pics for us.

Photo0199FourBySix.jpg

Photo0202FourBySix.jpg

D had tons of fun with this. . .until he put it in gear to move it! The driver and I about had a heart attack! :faint: It really was hilarious, though!

After that was over, we headed for STORYBOOK CIRCUS! We were very excited to see this new area. I must’ve totally missed the DIS crash course on where this was, because I was L-O-S-T. I finally just figured I’d follow the wall like I knew what I was doing and eventually we found it!

IMG_1213.jpg

We waited about 15 minutes, and we were off to fly an elephant!

IMG_1216.jpg

IMG_1219.jpg

IMG_1090-Copy-Copy-Copy.jpg

IMG_1088-Copy-Copy-Copy.jpg

Dalton wasn’t overly excited about Dumbo before the ride (just because he’s not much for rides), but once it was over, he decided it was his new favorite!

He wanted to ride it again, but we were ready to move on to Barnstormer featuring the Great Goofini!

IMG_1214.jpg

Ride over? Thumbs up for the Great Goofini!!

IMG_1227.jpg

IMG_1228.jpg

We really liked the theming, and the ride was just fun!

At that point, D needed a potty break, so we went to use the new Fantasyland bathrooms. However, they had the same problem as the WL bathrooms—he thought they were loud! That was when I found the world’s greatest invention at WDW. . .the companion bathroom! D called them “Dalton’s Quiet Bathrooms”. We could go in and do what he needed to without him feeling like there were bajillion people in there. I know there’s probably not a need for bathroom descriptions in this TR, but you never know if you might need a companion restroom! ;)

Now. . .onto the rest of the adventures!

IMG_1229.jpg

We left there and headed to get fastpasses for Winnie-the-Pooh. We also got some bonus fastpasses there for Mickey’s Philharmagic!

I don’t know what was going on that day, but Fantasyland was a hot mess. The area between IASW and Peter Pan was a complete and total bottleneck. They had strollers in the middle and an area about 3 regular-size people-wide open, with about 500 people trying to go BOTH ways in that area at the same time. CM’s were out yelling at people to get through and get where they were going. The IASW line was stretched all the way out of the ride and down the scrim.

I decided I needed fortification before we attacked that, so we stopped for water and DIBS ice cream. D was absolutely blown away that we were having ice cream at 10 am!

We headed out of the craziness and were off to Frontierland! This was a funny day, sort of, because we had on our Denver Broncos Peyton Manning shirts. People kept stopping us asking where the shirt came from or saying, “Go Peyton!” Being huge Peyton fans, we loved it, of course!

The next adventure needs its own update, just trust me, so we'll stop there. I promise it will have more pictures. . .and there will be a loss, tears, and lots of adventure! ;)

Been away at the beach this past week, so I'm trying to get caught up! Enjoyed the massive AK update, especially all the pics at Camp Minnie-Mickey!

Glad D discovered that he liked the Dumbo ride. Too funny about how he wanted to drive the fire truck! :)

Loved your beach update on your TR as well! Welcome home! :). Yep, on D's top 5 from this WDW trip was that fire truck! :rotfl:
