Mickey and the Monduhrail! The Stitchs' World Tour! Update 11/1!

First off, I love all the pictures you got inside the castle. It's so funny that it all looks just like I would have imagined from reading the books! :thumbsup2

Secondly, I was wondering why this girl had on knee-high fishnet stockings! Then I realized that the boy behind her had them on too! So I finally figured out it was some part of the ride/seat!

LOL, I thought that too! I just thought, well I've never seen that yet at a theme park

Yay! Glad you're here! I am so excited for the 2013 packages to come out so I can book our Poly stay. . .when are you going? We will be there mid-March!

Our next family trip probably won't be until October... we've been twice before during that month, and think it's a great time to visit. Plus, our DDs have a week for Fall Break so we don't have to take them out of school. Win/win! :thumbsup2

We've already invited my mom to join us on our next family trip, and she has always always always wanted to stay at the Poly. We've never stayed at any Deluxe before... I'm really hoping it's in the budget!

cool photos of the castle...nice you can tour it without going on the ride!

It does look exactly like I imagined! I was fascinated with the Pensieve. There is also a part where Dumbledore talks to you (no details, so as not to be a complete spoiler), and I was so amazed, I just stopped in line. :rotfl2:

I didn't even notice the "fishnet stockings"!! :rotfl2: The place where you put your bags/stuff is sort of backwards on that, so that's where you store that stuff!

LOL, I thought that too! I just thought, well I've never seen that yet at a theme park

It's a new Harry look! ;)

Ooh, the Poly would be great for that trip! I LOVE going in October! That's when we'll go in 2014, since D will be in 1st grade by then (holy cow, how did that happen?) and that will be our Fall Break!

cool photos of the castle...nice you can tour it without going on the ride!

That was one of the things I really liked! I was afraid I wouldn't get to see it since I couldn't ride the ride.

Update in next post. . .:yay:

From there, we walked around Hogsmeade some more.

IMG_0864.jpg

Then Brian went to ride Dragon Challenge. He was on the Chinese Fireball. He said it was lots of fun!

At that point, it was starting to get a little crowded in the town of Hogsmeade. I went and talked to the guy at Three Broomsticks to get some advice about being there at lunch. He said to come back about 10:45 or so, and we would be able to come right in.

We knew we wanted to go to Seuss Landing before lunch, so we headed that way.

IMG_0912.jpg

Seuss Landing was SO cool to look at! We went first to the Sneetches Ride (the trolley). We read D the story of the Sneetches as we walked through. My dad and mom used to read me this story all the time when I was little, so it was so neat to see the ride!

IMG_0897.jpg

By this time, it had started to rain. No big deal. Just a little drizzle. After the trolley, we found the “If I Ran the Zoo” playground. I’m not sure which of us had more fun here! We all loved it!

IMG_0933.jpg

IMG_0925.jpg

My favorite was Tic Tac Joe. You can play Tic Tac Toe with him. . .on his stomach! D loved the rides, the tunnel, and spraying the guy who needed a bath. ;)

IMG_0937.jpg

IMG_0942.jpg

A couple of other Seuss Landing pics. . .just because I like them! ;)

Playground time finished, it was off to the HULK! That was the big ride (outside of all things Harry Potter) that Brian wanted to ride. When we got to that section, it started to pour. Really, really pour. At that same point, my boss called. So I was phone and stroller juggling and D and I were living it up in the rain. It was a hilarious conversation, because I kept having to say, “Ok, ok, now PAUSE. . .the Hulk is going by”. :rotfl:

IMG_0911.jpg

You can’t really tell it, but Brian is about the 3rd or 4th row back with the Red Sox shirt on. He said the ride was AWESOME!

In the rain, after Hulk, we made our way back to Hogsmeade. It was a hopping, hopping place there by this time (about 10:40 am). We decided to go on into lunch. I got the roasted chicken meal and ice tea in a Butterbeer mug. Brian got the fish and chips and the regular Butterbeer in a Butterbeer mug. D got. . .uh-huh. . .chicken and fries. The food was very, very good! I got to see a house-elf run by very quickly in the shadows, but we didn’t get a pic.

We left lunch and took some more pics around Hogsmeade. . .I found two of my most favorite Harry Potter things. . .

IMG_0885.jpg

IMG_0929.jpg

D despised the mandrake. He made me move because he said that someone needed to tell it it was too noisy!

IMG_0931.jpg

No joke, this thing attacked me from its cage when I walked by! It was fabulous!!

We took some pics with the Hogwarts Express on our way out.

IMG_0888.jpg

I was very sad that I couldn’t go up there and pose with the luggage, but I had to take what I could get.

IMG_0889.jpg

From there, we headed out of IoA, in the rain, and walked back to RPR. We got back to the hotel around 12:30 or 1 pm. On the way in, we passed the town cars waiting outside. I asked at the concierge desk about calling a taxi. She said, “In the pouring rain, I would definitely recommend using the town car. They are on standby, and they are a flat fee”. She said that a taxi would take longer in the rain, and therefore cost more. We had them call up the town car, and off we went. For the sake of those budgeting, the town car was much more comfortable, and it was a flat fee of $50. Even with tip, I felt like it was less than the taxi would have been.

We arrived at Wilderness Lodge, and I was SO glad at that point that we had chosen to check in the day before so we already had a room. We went in, dropped our stuff, I started some laundry, and off to napland we went! :cloud9:

NEXT UP: Downtown Disney. . .the Stitchs get their Eat ON!!

cute photos of Suesslanding....D looks like he had fun, so does the big guy :lmao::lmao:
lunch looks yummy! bummer about the rain, seems like you made the best of it and got to do what you wanted!

we aren't HP fans, so probably won't ever go to IofA to see it , thanks for sharing the great photos!

not a bad price for the car and you got to ride home in style :thumbsup2

Holy Buckets!!! A non-cheesy pic of D, crazy talk ;)
Were the dragons the old dueling dragons? We rode those and the hulk, what seems like an eternity ago--they were fun! Even if I did get some green ride goo on my leg at the Hulk!
Seuss looks like even more fun with a little one around, who'da thunk it ;) Great pictures of all of you there. . .love D in the police car in his stroller--too cute!
Glad you got to eat inside and see even more things, like the house elf--very cool!!!
You guys really got to see and do quite a bit before lunch. I'm so glad that your ride back was nice and that you just got to get into WDW mode without all the checking in and such :thumbsup2
Can't wait for the rest of the day :)

Very nice photos!!!

I was starting to go through withdrawls and was thinking if I don't get an update by today, I'm calling your southern butt for a butt-chewin'!!!

Love the photos of D in Suessland!!! My parents to PJ when she was 5... they said she just loved it!!! Dad had to bribe her w/ ice cream or some kind of sweet to move out of there so they could see other areas of the park.

The HP castle and area are fabulous!!! I didn't get into HP but DH and the kids did... I remember when it first came out, B was newborn.... we thought it was a typical movie length...so I decided to just do some shopping in town and wait on them... uh, 4 hours later.. I was furious...but they loved it... so I just came home and took a nap...

I had to go back and look about the fishnet stockings.. what a great observation.. I missed it... so I was really curious why they were wearing those! :lmao:

Ok, better get back to the last minute cleaning and finishing the packing.. we are headed out tomorrow about noon!!!! :woohoo:

Loving it all! Maybe one of these days we'll get to add on some extra days so that we can do non-Disney parks too.:)

Loved the Universal part of your report. Maybe one day I'll be able to sacrifice a Disney day and go over there! :)

We used a town car service once from the airport (before the days of Magical Express), and it was really comfortable and convenient!

It was a really fun day! We definitely made the best of the rain--I figure a rainy day on vacation is better than a pretty day at work! :rotfl2:

The dragons were the Dragon Challenge in HP. We went to the old Dueling Dragons too, but Bri didn't want to ride since the rain was coming in pretty heavy. And can you BELIEVE it's a non-cheesy pic?? ;)

I am so way behind on updates...but you're at WDW, so I'm probably forgiven, right?? ;)

Loving it all! Maybe one of these days we'll get to add on some extra days so that we can do non-Disney parks too.:)

I know...I am so terrritorial about my WDW days!

Loved the Universal part of your report. Maybe one day I'll be able to sacrifice a Disney day and go over there! :)

The town car was really nice and definitely convenient! We really loved our Universal day, but I think we'll wait a few more years until D is older and can ride more before going back.

Ok, y'all, i'll have another update tomorrow! :thumbsup2

Where were we? Oh yes, finishing up a nap at Wilderness Lodge! I got up earlier than the guys (again, a pattern) and got ready. Then they got up and we got ready to head to our next destination. . .Downtown Disney!

Of course, before we headed out, we had to stop for pictures!!

IMG_0948.jpg

This is in the Carolwood Pacific Room with Walt’s trains. D was so excited to see trains!

IMG_0947.jpg

On the way out, D posed with Mickey!

IMG_0950.jpg

D was so excited to take his first ride on the Disney bus! He LOVES the buses! He tells everyone that his very favorite Disney thing/ride is the “Mickey bus”!

IMG_0953.jpg

Our destination for dinner? Wolfgang Puck’s Express! We absolutely love this restaurant!

I had BBQ Chicken pizza, Brian had a meatloaf sandwich, and D had. . .chicken and fries! (I promise, throughout the trip, he also ate fruit and other stuff. . .it just doesn’t seem like it!)

IMG_0954.jpg

IMG_0956.jpg

After we ordered, the guy told us that they were out of milk. So, while the guys were waiting, I made a quick trip to Earl of Sandwich to get a milk for D. Milk and water are all he will drink, so the milk scavenger hunt was definitely a must-do! :thumbsup2 The food at WPE was really really good! I love that pizza!

After the great meal (complete with cheesecake, yummalicious!), we went to the Guest Services place to upgrade our Photopass to the Photopass Plus. That took FOREVER. I mean, like the little kid in “Sandlot”: “FORRRRRREVVVVVVVUHHHHHH”.

I had my receipt and everything from the original order. The guy did everything we needed to do, and then we had to go to Team Mickey to use the cash register. That’s where it all went nuts. The girl didn’t know how to ring it up (not her fault). So, we had to wait on two different managers to come over and try to figure it out.

During this adventure, the guys bought a Red Sox vinylmation and a Red Sox baseball!

We also went to Once Upon A Toy and World of Disney. Dalton added to his Disney Racer/Disney Vehicle collection, but other than that, we didn’t really get anything!

After all of that shopping (in the rain), we went back to the bus and then back to the hotel! Brian & D went down to get us drinks (Diet Coke and decaf coffee) and we crashed for the night!

Here is a pic of D on his way back to the “fotel”, riding the Mickey bus:

IMG_0958.jpg

Next up: The Stitchs Relax. . .wait, does that actually happen??

That meatloaf sandwich is crazy! Also, my kids ate lots of chicken and fries (sometimes they still do!), and they're ok. I'm a firm believer that after lots of meals of chicken and fries, a kid's body will finally tell him that it wants some fruit or vegetables, and that's what they'll ask for! :)

That sandwich WAS crazy!!! Definitely a good kickoff to Disney food outside the resort! ;) I think you're right about the chicken and fries (or at least, I hope you are!). If you ask D what his favorite foods are, he says, "chicken, fries, grapes, and apples". I'm hoping the grapes and apples can move up the list! :lmao:

Have never been to WPE, but hope to on our October trip. I've eaten at EofS twice and love it, so it'll be hard to not go with a favorite. But everything I've read/heard about WPE is great. And, oh, that meatloaf sandwich is a whopper!

We are big EofS fans, too! The Caribbean Jerk chicken is my favorite! But, once we started going to WPE, if it comes to a choice between the two, WPE wins! I hope you like it!

That meatloaf sandwich IS a whopper! All of their food is huge! One of the things I like best about WPE is that it feels like a TS or sit-down, but it's a QS. Definitely a good value! :thumbsup2

haven't eaten at WPE either, always say we are but EoS wins everytime,,,we love the caprese sandwich YUM....mouth drooling! the food does look really good through, Brian's sandwich is HUGE!
at least D is getting some fruits in....Megan still loves her nuggets and fries

love the photos of D on "his" bus! you could save lots of $$ and just ride the bus around and around all day :rotfl2: he'd be one happy boy :yay:
