Mickey and the Magical Map

Glad to hear so many different opinions. I think we will definitely add it to our list but won't plan to arrive more than 15 minutes early. Thanks! 11 days to go! :cool1:

DH (29) and me (27) saw it last Saturday. Admittedly, musicals and shows in Disney parks are not DH's thing, but he goes when I ask nicely. ;)

I liked it. I didn't LOVE it. I thought it was cute and cleaver with the animation and the set up of the screen on the three levels and the stage. The musical numbers were cute and entertaining. I liked that they brought characters in that you don't normally see.

Kids around us seemed to be amused and the show kept their attention. It isn't too long either, which is nice.

I'm glad that they are using this space and that Disneyland finally has a "show" since I love Aladdin and of course, so many of them in WDW!

It is a one and done sorta attraction for most people, I would assume. I don't see AP holders and frequent visitors making it a must-do on each trip. Will be interesting to see how it does in the long run...

I've seen the show a couple of times, and agree that there is no real cohesive story. However, the musical numbers are done really well. At the Q&A session after the show someone asked about the lack of Stitch in the show, and I am sure that the creators realize that that will be an "issue" for people watching. I really enjoyed all the numbers, thought Jungle Book and the three princesses were the best, and though Under the Sea has been done too much at the parks, I really liked the dancers, especialy the two bubble guys.

As for seating, the seating area is small enough to see the show well from any area, however, the center gives you the best effects. Also, there are bubbles and streamers that come from the ceiling, and the streamers do not hit the back half of the audience. If you have children who will have a better experience catching streamers as they come down you might try for the front half rather than the back of the audience.

Attended AP Event last night. DD absolutely loved the show (Especially the part with Pocahontas, Mulan, Rapunzel, and Flinn Rider), wife and I enjoyed the show as well, even more so that DD had such a great time.

As part of this weeks Limited Time Magic we did receive the Compass Quest - which was a map with a "Treasure Hunt" to find compasses throughout the park. It was fun.

We arrived about 15 min before show was to start and the line looked huge - all the way into Toon Town. It was no problem, we got a very nice seat about 3/4 the way back in the center aisle with a great view.

We were at the AP showing last night too.
It was okay.....didn't wow me.....but VERY nice to see Mulan (DD's favorite).
We got the map.....maybe we will try it today.

Looks like a ploy to get more people in the Tiki Room and the Canoes...
