I'm sure that every park has them, but can someone tell me if the Mickey/Minnie hats (The ones with the ears) are sold at the big store when you first enter MK (Emporium, I think?). Can you get names on them? How much should I budget for them? Do they come in Toddler size?

:earsgirl: :earsboy:

Yes they do sell them there. You can have names put on them. When you purchase them ask about having names put on them. The CM will send you to the right place. They do come in toddler sizes too I did see them when I was in a store at the Contemporary resort. Can't remember how much they were as we bought ours a few years ago, sorry.

Also if you buy a pirates hat they will put captain (child's name) on it. My kids LOVED THIS!!!

Regular Mickey ears were $7.50 and the gold ones were $9.95. You can get names put on at The Chapeau right at the beginning of Main Street for free. They also had Minnie ears - black ears on a pink hat with Minnie on the front instead of Mickey.

My daughter wanted to get the Minnie visor hat. It's black with Minnie on the visor and has her red bow and ears sticking up. Real cute. For the life of me I can't remember the price of it. Loved the shops.

This was a few years ago (quite a few) but when my DD was 6 she got a pink Mickey ears hat and they put her name on back. We got ii in MK on a side street on Main Street. My DD is now 21 and she still has them.

Do they only put the names on the back of the ear hats or will they do other hats as well --- I am sure it is a very stupid question -- but I had to ask

According to DW, who waited at Le Chapeau while DS & I ran off for FastPasses, they were putting names on other types of hats, too. Your best bet would be to check in there and see what hats they have and which ones they can put names on.

Just in case your toddler may still need that "First Haircut", you can go to the Barber Shop next to the Emporium by the Fire Station for a $15 cut and you will get the toddler sized ears with "First Haircut" embroidered on it, plus a certificate and Mickey confetti in his/her hair when he/she is done! We have tons of great pictures from this in May when our DS 20 months got his first haircut! Just thoughts for you! :flower:

About the first haircut - what time did you get there, and was it a good cut? We will be going in Dec., and I would like to get my DD's hair cut (she will be just turning 2).

We went mid-morning and only had to wait about 15 minutes. There was a family in front of us having 4 people done, so it took a bit. However, it was well worth the wait! There are only two stylists, but they work quickly. Just be sure to step inside to be sure to "get yourself in line", as there are seats inside on both sides and sometimes alot of people inside may be just watching a family member get his/her haircut, so it could be deceiving if you see many people inside the shop. As far as the quality of the cut, it was my son's first time and he is not yet two, so anything would have been an improvement from the girly curls he was getting. (We waited also until we went to WDW for the first haircut!!!) (I did see some teenagers go out with nice doo's, though!) They also will give you the first clippings wrapped in tissue for you to save! And, one last thing, you can take older kids/people in just for a styling treatment, where they will style the hair and paint/confetti them with Disney magic! So fun for the older kids who may not need a cut! Good luck!!!
