Hi all

As i have now decided on a Disney Intimate Wedding, (just the 2 of us) I just wondered what you guys thought about having Mickey and Minnie or other characters at your Wedding Ceremony. I have seen pics and I think it looks lovely but my fiance isn't that impressed. The price is $1070 for 30 mins and as my Disney Wedding budget is nearing maximum density, I wondered whether it would be better to forgo the characters.

Thoughts anyone? :confused3

I think that if it something that you have your heart set on then you should do it! I've seen pics of characters at weddings and it looks like a lot of fun. To me having characters is not that important to me...I would rather have cinderella's coach princess:

We're adding them into our intimate wedding. They are really cute and make for great pictures so if you can swing it I say go for it, but if not its not a huge loss b/c you can see the two of them anywhere in the parks on your honeymoon ;)

I think we are the only Disney wedding not to have M&M there, but... I just don't think they "fit" with a formal event. HTH!

We're not going to have them, either. $1070 is a little much for us, for 30 mins. We justified it by buying a new digital camera and we're going to get all sorts of pics with Minnie & Mickey (and the other characters!) while at the parks.

Yeah, I should maybe get pics done with all the characters while at the parks, a new digital camera would be a good idea. The photos just looked so lovely, but it is an awful lot of money for 30 min, I mean the amount I could save could pay for 2 nights at The Grand Floridian which is the hotel I wanted for my honeymoon

I guess I need to be sensible :p

It's really a matter of personal choice and spending your money on what you would enjoy the most. It sounds like you'd rather stay at the Grand Floridian than have characters at your wedding, so I think that's probably the right choice for you. Don't worry, you will still have a blast without the characters--we did!

Lovely wife and I had the characters appear during the reception. They came in after the cake cutting. It was a total surprise for everyone except me, wife and my mother-in-law. It really was a hit. Mickey and Minnie really re-energized the place. They danced with everyone, we had a congo line and then we had formal pics taken with them outside our reception hall (which was at the GF Convention Center).

M&M were FABULOUS. It's so funny to watch our wedding DVD and see the look on everyone's faces when the Big Cheese and his Girlfriend walk in.

We had about 85 people at our reception so it worked well.

We had an Intimate and did not have Mickey and Minnie. We knew we would see them in the parks for pictures and it just didn't go with our wedding theme. If you look at our wedding pictures and weren't familiar with the WL you would not even know we got married at Disney World. The only Disney items were our chocolate bridal Mickey and Minnie favors.

That's what is so great about a Disney wedding - it can be as much or as little Disney themed as you want it to be. I dreamed of getting married in Disney World but didn't want a major Disney theme and DH is not as huge a fanatic as I am, so it was the best of both worlds for us!

Best Wishes :goodvibes

I too think it is a lot to spen for that short amt of time but then I think of the picture that is the reason that I am torn - I would only do mickey but will probably save the $$ as I am doing a Mad Hatter Tea and will have 2 characters there!

Do what's most important to you. Having Mickey and Minnie at the reception is one of the most important things to me for my wedding, so it's worth it to me. I've cut back on stuff that isn't important to me, for example I'm making my own bouquet with these lovely silk roses I got on sale that look amazingly real (total cost, under $15). But Mickey and Minnie are staying in the budget no matter what! ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

(There's a shirt that reads "I like my boyfriend but I love Mickey!" My fiance says I love Mickey so much, he thinks I should get it and change boyfriend to husband then change into it for the reception. :rotfl: )
