Hello to all
.
I have been quietly reading through the boards for quite some time now. I have to admit I have even borrowed ideas from many of your PJ in planning my own wedding. You all have been so very helpful. I figure it is my turn to get this Planning Journal going!
How we met
I have to admit this relationship was 10 years in the making who knew. At the time we both worked at Zoo Miami, he was a night time security guard and I was an overnight guide (tours would spend the night at the zoo and I would escort them through the zoo at night). After I put my group to sleep I would take leftover food to the security guards. Basically it was a Hi how are ya? Heres some pizza for you. Have a good night.
Fast forward to October 2007. I was a Kindergarten Teacher at a school when we were introduced to a new computer tech. All I kept on saying was Wow, he looks super familiar. Halfway through the year he came in to service some of my computers when we realized our connection, the zoo. A new friendship was formed that day. For years we became close, more very good friends than anything else (he had a girlfriend at the time). We all hung out together all the time. There was a small group of us that were sort-of a cliché. A few years later he and his girlfriend broke up. Our cliché was there for him we all huddled around our friend. A few months later we were at a friend's party when we stole each other's phone. We decided to text each other back and forth....what started out as a game turned into more. He told me that he was so happy I was there and that I made everthing so much better. I told him I was happy to be there too and that he was my best friend. He told me he wanted more. That is the night we became more than friends!
The Engagement
After a crazy filled day with the family at Hollywood Studios, we were excited to have a quiet romantic dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table. Dinner was delicious and the view was amazing all that was left was the fantastic dessert. I was waiting for the waiter to come back and ask me what I wanted as a dessert. Instead the waiter brought out a white covered platter. The first thing that popped into my head was "I didn't order dessert!" and much to my confusion he pulled off the top. Sitting in a pile of red rose petals was a glass slipper. Nestled inside was a single rose petal with the engagement ring.
The words weren't needed....the shock was priceless and the planning began.
