Hello to all….

I have been quietly reading through the boards for quite some time now. I have to admit I have even borrowed ideas from many of your PJ in planning my own wedding. You all have been so very helpful. I figure it is my turn to get this Planning Journal going!

How we met
I have to admit this relationship was 10 years in the making…who knew. At the time we both worked at Zoo Miami, he was a night time security guard and I was an overnight guide (tours would spend the night at the zoo and I would escort them through the zoo at night). After I put my group to sleep I would take leftover food to the security guards. Basically it was a “Hi how are ya? Here’s some pizza for you. Have a good night.”
Fast forward to October 2007. I was a Kindergarten Teacher at a school when we were introduced to a new computer tech. All I kept on saying was “Wow, he looks super familiar”. Halfway through the year he came in to service some of my computers when we realized our connection, the zoo. A new friendship was formed that day. For years we became close, more very good friends than anything else (he had a girlfriend at the time). We all hung out together all the time. There was a small group of us that were sort-of a cliché. A few years later he and his girlfriend broke up. Our cliché was there for him…we all huddled around our friend. A few months later we were at a friend's party when we stole each other's phone. We decided to text each other back and forth....what started out as a game turned into more. He told me that he was so happy I was there and that I made everthing so much better. I told him I was happy to be there too and that he was my best friend. He told me he wanted more. That is the night we became more than friends! :lovestruc

The Engagement
After a crazy filled day with the family at Hollywood Studios, we were excited to have a quiet romantic dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table. Dinner was delicious and the view was amazing all that was left was the fantastic dessert. I was waiting for the waiter to come back and ask me what I wanted as a dessert. Instead the waiter brought out a white covered platter. The first thing that popped into my head was "I didn't order dessert!" and much to my confusion he pulled off the top. Sitting in a pile of red rose petals was a glass slipper. Nestled inside was a single rose petal with the engagement ring. :cloud9:

The words weren't needed....the shock was priceless and the planning began.

I love when things work out so perfectly. Clearly, you two are meant to be together. And what an adorable engagement story! :) Can't wait to read more!

Congrats!! You are getting married on my 1 year anniversary! I didn't have a wedding twin on here (that I knew of) so this is exciting!

He did propose to me on May 14, 2011 inside at Cinderella's Royal Table. I can say it was perfect...I'm sort-of a major Disney freak! :woohoo:

Awww =]

You look so happy! Congrats again on the engagement! Can't wait to follow along! =]

So I kind-of jumped right into this PJ without properly introducing myself.

My name is Michelle and I am 30 years old. I spend my weekdays teaching Pre-K students. I love my little munchkins! I wouldn't change it for the world. Now on my weekends I spend my days at Zoo Miami. You might find me at our Rhino Encounter or Giraffe feeding station (can't say my job is boring! ;) )Yes my fellow disbrides I work 7 days a week. Even though both of my jobs...I have to admit....are pretty cool, it tends to kill my down time. For now...it is what it is!

DF is Jeff and he is 31 years old. He also works for the school system. He is the IT guy...you know the one you want to be friends with so he can fix your computer and give you all the cool programs first! :worship: But that's not why I'm marrying him! It's cause he's my special little goofball!

Always up to something!

Here's our save the dates that we sent out in August. They were magnets!

So now I'm playing catch up with this PJ! I knew I should have started it earlier. Oh well C'est la vie! Here are a few engagement shots. Now DF's brother is our photographer...this gave him a great way to see how thinks were going to work day of the wedding.

Well that is it for now. I had more pics.....Umm...I wonder where they went. Well, next time I'll post all my cool little goodies from my new favorite online store...ETSY!

Michelle,
I got married in 1985, and our colors were pink, navy and white (my mother wouldn't let me wear ivory). We are planning a Disney vow renewal next May, and I am seriously considering using the same colors! I still love the combination after all these years!
Also, I love your engagement pictures. You both look so happy!

We are very happy thank you. I love our color combination...it's a very classy combination! You should definitely reuse it. It was probably beautiful then as it will be now! :goodvibes

So sorry it's been a while since I've been on. We went on an interesting camping trip this past weekend in Wakiwa Springs....and we ended our day at Downtown Disney....;). (Gotta love how we snuck a little Disney in there)

So as I mentioned before right after our engagement we decided we wanted a disney wedding and started planning it right then. Needless to say my first purchase was my dress! I've loved it forever!

It's Alfred Angelo in Ivory and Tea Rose!
