Michael Vick getting house arrest now? Total crap.....

Oh my g-d. That is the most disgusting thing I've ever read. I knew he was in jail, but I avoided reading details of the actual things they were doing.

He should rot there. And no, i do not agree that all the animals on earth are worth the life of one single human. I find that to be a totally ignorant statement.

And according to my son, on SportsCenter and show's like that - there's talk of them re-instating his NFL status.

They will. There's very little doubt about it.

As for my opinion, I think it's disgusting that rapists and drunk drivers who hurt/kill people have gotten shorter sentances than he did. But don't get me wrong, what he did deserved his sentance and more. What makes me more sick is all the other people still doing it, who if caught will get a slap on the wrist. Vick only got what he did to be an example. And soon his life will go back to normal if he kept himself in shape.

Vick's house arrest is nothing different than any other "star offender" being on house arrest. He's certainly served far more time inside than most famous law-breakers. And I'd much rather have him confined to his estate, paying his own bills and using his own money for his "upkeep" than to keep him in prison on the taxpayer's dime.

As for the NFL reinstatement ... it kind of depends on how you feel about the Justice System in general. If you believe that once someone "serves his time" that they have paid their debt to society and should be allowed to continue to live their lives and return to society, then it shouldn't be a problem that Vick is allowed to be reinstated. It's no different than any other released felon who tries to get a job. Now, if you believe that "once a felon, always a felon" and that people released from prison should never be allowed to live a normal life again or return to their homes and jobs, then that's a different story.

:earsboy:

Not an animal lover (or hater), so I have felt all along that he was treated far worse than the crime dictated, but I understand the views of those who are animal lovers (my wife would have him castrated if she could).

At this point, he was a model inmate and it shortened his sentence. He is commited to making amends. Maybe this thing can actually help in the long run. He is, after all, a man with a huge following. If he means what he says, he could reach a lot of people...

He will never be reinstated into the NFL. No team will want him and his reputation. Nevermind the fact that he wasn't suspended for the dog fighting; its the gambling that the NFL didn't like and that in itself won't allow him to be reinstated.

Seriously people...

He committed his crimes, acknowledged committing his crimes, and served the sentence that was handed down to him in a court of law, according to what the law dictates a crime of this type should serve. He was a good inmate in prison, not causing further problems, and is now going to be paroled b/c of it.

What exactly do you have a problem with?

Is it b/c these were dogs, and not humans? If Vick had killed someone, there would have been LESS commotion about it than there was. Now THAT'S saying something, and it ain't sayin' something good, either!

It's too bad the people who were, and are, SOOOO tough on Vick for this crime, aren't as rabid against those who commit crimes against humans and get soft sentences. Now THAT would be something to be proud of...

Let it go, folks. He'll play again in the NFL, despite what you do. He'll get no further leeway, if he fails, he'll be done, forever. He's earned his second chance by his prison terms, just as any other criminal who has served time.

Get on with your lives...

VT = Virginia Tech?

That explains your post. Vick seems to be some sort of hero down there.

Time will tell, but I would be SHOCKED if he is not reinstated before next year.

I bet many teams will be clamoring after his services.

I bet all of us here who are against Vick are also against people who commit crimes against humans. And yes I am proud that I care for humans and animals too!

Anyone with a friend that just happens to live in a canine body, knows those boys and girls ask for nothing from us, but give unlimited love. The fact that so many of Vick's dogs could be rescued is indicative of that. Vick viciously murdered and tortured these innocent animals in order to massage an all ready enlarged ego. He has no soul, IMO. Whatever evil rains down on his head has been earned. And for anyone to say, but the victim was "only a dog"; I pray for the dog's sake, you never have one in your life.

Also, why would anyone think that being enraged over savage behavior is a bad thing?

Do you disagree that he has some "hero" status down there from his College FB days?

I guess I used the wrong emoticon. I thought it was tragic if someone's former life as a college football player would excuse his despicable treatment of animals. If you are correct (and you probably are), this is just an example of hero worship gone awry.
