Rather than only listening to the media, people should actually research the cases themselves. It's not as if the information isn't out there on the internet - I know first hand.
I didn't know of him at all until after his death (born in the '90s, never watched the news, only listened to Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears growing up lol, and no one in my family liked his type of music, they were more into hard rock, so I never really knew of him and the only song I knew by him was 'ABC' but I didn't know it was by the Jackson 5 - just that I liked the song lol). I wanted to find out more about him, so of course, I used the internet. The amount of information I found on him, his humanitarian work, and the cases - it was incredible.
Once you read about the cases, its plain as day that they're extortion plots. Not to mention, the FBI had a file on him from the '80s (because of people threatening to kill him) and they found nothing that led them to believe he was a child molester.
For those of you from that thread that apparently lurk here, I can even provide some links for you.
Sadly, even when presented the information, most people won't change their minds, but at least we spread the truth.
And the crack about us being crazy? The same could be said about everyone here on the Dis, as we're all such avid Disney fans lol. I know my friends think I'm crazy for liking Disney so much (it's like that for my parents and siblings, too), but really, who is anyone to judge? Whatever happened to 'don't judge a man until you walk in his/her shoes'?
Sorry for the rant, this stuff just drives me crazy haha.
Here's an adorable picture to make up for it:

Law of the Garbage Truck
One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport.
We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us.
My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us.
My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really friendly.
So I asked, 'Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!'
This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, 'The Law of the Garbage Truck.'
He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment.
As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you. Don't take it personally.
Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets.
The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day.
Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets,
so ... Love the people who treat you RIGHT
Pray for the ones who don't.
Good way to start my day off reading this! Its so true
