Michael Jackson Thriller Video

I have talked, to my DD12, about the video for Thriller for many years. I had no idea where to find it. I was thinking that it might be showing on some channel this week but I still can't find it. My DD keeps asking if it is on. Does anyone know where I can find it?

Many of the channels are doing MJ specials still and you can often hit upon it. I'm assuming that on Tuesday, the day of the memorial service, there will probably be more coverage and you might catch it.

For now, I'd look at YouTube but there's nothing like seeing it on a nice TV, you know? Periodically, check MTV, VHI, BET, E!, etc.

I had my 10yr old DD watch it with me, and I told her how Michael Jackson was to me, like Miley Cyrus or The Jonas Brothers are to her.

When Michael Jackson died, she really knew who he was due to watching that video, and I think she was even a little sad. She may not have known much about him, but she knew how much he meant to me in my teenage years.

My DD is now 15, but when she was younger, she was really into MJ. I used to play his music for her and she just fell in love. It made me so happy because I was such a fanatic when I was a teen! Michael Jackson is something that we had in common and he brought such fun to our lives.

She'd grown away from his music some and I was disappointed to see that she didn't appear to be too sad at his passing. But as the days passed, I think she did the same thing as I did - spent time remembering who was was and how he made us feel. Now she's watching his videos again and listening to his music. I find her dancing to "Wanna Be Starting Something" in her room.

And we have that common denominator once again.

My 10 year-old niece was helping me in the kitchen yesterday. All of a sudden she starts to sing Off The Wall. When she was done, I asked her if she knew any more of his songs. She named (and sang) 5 more songs.

I was with my DD at a figure skating competition in another state when MJ passed away. Just a couple of hours before he died, one of DD's friends skated an artistic program to Thriller. She was dressed up as MJ the monster and had lots of the moves from Thriller in her program. She won 1st place. It was shocking to find out just two hours later that MJ had died.

DH has a dvd of all of the Jackson 5 television performances that they did over the years (Ed Sullivan, Sonny & Cher Show, etc...) It was very cool to see all of these again and to watch how he and his brothers grew up over the years.

My DD's choir did "Thriller" last year as part of their year-end concert. It was fantastic.

Thanks everyone. My DD really started a MJ craze after watching 13 going on 30. She couldn't believe that people danced like that (the zombies all in a famous MJ group). After that she stared looking for the videos and music.

Thanks for posting that link! I got to watch Thriller and some other great Michael Jackson videos. The only song of his that I have is "Another Part of Me" from the Captain EO soundtrack, and my mom has Thriller on vinyl. I just made a list of songs for my mom to download on iTunes for us (oddly enough, she just learned how to use the computer at 53 years old, but she's the iTunes guru in the house).
