Gus is actually Octavius. When she finds him in the trap (he's the chubby one) she says something like. "We'll name him....Octavius! But we'll call him Gus for short."

And don't forget the other girl mouse...Pearla.

I could go on all day but you probably don't want pet-name advice from someone with dogs named Guido & Gretzky and a cat named Zamboni...

So glad to see that other people give their pets Disney names!
Our recently acquired cat is named Stitch, and he is just as full of mischief as his little blue namesake.
My horse that I bought a couple of years ago is Figment (and if you don't know how that relates to Disney, you're not a big enough fan!! ).
I am also a fan of unusual pet names. Our other cat is Toonces, which Saturday Night Live fans will recognize (no, we don't let him anywhere near the car).
Our previous two cats were Vinnie (Vincent Van Kitty, in honor of Van Gogh, since he had a notched ear) and Muse, because I used to do a lot of freelance magazine writing, and she would sleep on top of my word processor and inspire me. My bird is Bradley (would have been Bradbury in honor of Ray Bradbury, but I mutated it to something easier to say...anyone know what Disney attraction Ray helped to design?), and my other horse is Robbs Starry Night, named for his mom Robbs Stars High and the Van Gogh painting (although I usually just call him "Cochise" ).
Anybody have any other good pet names?

I had a "Vincent Van Goat" and "Margot Kid-der" that were pigmy goats!

I've probably spent more time coming up with all our pets names than I spent naming my children...

I've tried to talk my husband into letting me have a burro and a lama just so I can use the names "Milton" and "Dolly"...

Your post reminded me of the cemetery where I used to work many years ago that had a llama named Fernando (yes, I said "cemetery" and "llama"...it was a very strange place that also had a horse to lead the funerals, as well as a swan pond, peacocks, and a herd of deer).

Bettemom, we adopted a sheltie from the local rescue this past December. Love him! His name is Maximillion, Max or Maxi for short. Anyway, I've never heard of a mini shelti. Can I assume it is a breed that looks just like a sheltie, but smaller? Do they have the same characteristics as a sheltie? Just curious.
