Miami Hotel

--We have booked another cruise but this will be our first one out of Miami so I am unfamiliar with the area. First, how long of a drive is it from the Miami airport to the Port. And secondly, hotels....we are not sure where to stay. Any suggestions? We are flying in the day before from Vancouver so doesn't have to be on the beach as we wont be able to enjoy it....unsure if near the airport or closer to the port is a better bet. Thanks so much

I was very happy with the Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon (there may be some other words in there, but I can't remember right now). They have a free shuttle from the airport, offer a $10/person shuttle to the port, and it's within walking distance of some restaurants and stores for anything you have forgotten or need to get (2 bottles of wine/adult for example).
