We can remove the Plywood and put UP the Shutters, we just got the all clear.::yes:: It was on WPLG Chan 10! Thanks for the Prayers DIS-ers, keep praying for the rest of the state!;)

Palm Beach County is also out of the cone but I think I will keep the plywood on my windows until Dec. 1 :teeth:

:earseek: :teeth: Can't say I blame you!;) We are leaving ours up till Monday!::yes::

If its on the EAST COAST I think you are OK. Stay tuned to your local news.....:o

County ordered manditory phase 1, 2 and 3 evac. yesterday. Has just put hold on phase 2 and 3.

Looks less likely to pull a Charley now but it ain't over till it's over.

Best of luck to the Big Bend and Panhandle now.

John

This is Great News! will keep those prayers and that pixie dust coming your way! Hopefully, GA, SC, NC and the rest of the east coast will be spared, too!

GO AWAY, IVAN. YOU'VE TAKEN TOO MANY LIVES ALREADY!

Jodi :sunny:

Looks like it's our turn here in the panhandle. I'll just keep praying that it drops to a one before it hits us. :worried:

Ivan brings 200 mph gustsIvan brings 200 mph gusts
(11-Sep-04) Hurricane Ivan is in the northern Caribbean Sea, and was upgraded to Category 5 again Saturday afternoon. NHC forecast winds of 145 gusting to 175 kt (165 gusting to 200 mph). The latest central pressure is 914 mb (26.99"), making it the sixth most intense hurricane in recorded history. Only Gilbert, the 1935 storm, Camille, Mitch, and Allen have recorded deeper pressures.

I think everyone in Florida's panhandle needs our prayers.:(

I am happy for those folks in Florida, they have been hit so so hard. So much loss and devastation.

HOWEVER, lets not forget that a category 5 hurricane is still on a path to YOUR neighbors in Alabama and Georgia. I really don't think all these "GREAT NEWS!!!" and jumping smilies are really in order. I kinda find it sad for these folkks.

Thank you! I agree... there's no cause for celebration here. Someone is going to get hit hard. I'm about to head out on a business trip to New Orleans, where 12k people are about to gather for a safety conference! LA, AL, GA and the FL Panhandle are on high alert. Prayers would be appreciated.

Hi, I'm here in GA. When Frances hit we had tornados and NO power for four days!!!!:( (some people still don't have power). If Ivan hits here, we are going to be hurting.....bad.:(

Sorry, but when your area has just been hit by a hurricane you can't handle another one a week later. You are mentally fried. That's why I am so happy it's not coming to PBC. That doesn't mean I wish ill will on others.

It looks like it will NOT be the strong Cat 5 it is now when it hits the panhandle.

I am happy for you guys.... now lets just hope that it doesn't hit me.... I am in Panama City !!

Just talked to a friend in South Palm Beach County tonight. She has a friend there who still doesn't have power. :(

Yes, over 100,000 people in Palm Beach County are still without power.
