Hello,

I finally decided to open my own party place (not trying to copy the Surf Spot....I can only hope it will ever be that popular!) So sorry Surferrat, but I'm putting in my notice. I'm sure that there are lot's of other bartenders willing to help.

Sooo....

Now open for business is:

"DIS MEMBER PRIVATE TIKI CLUB"!​

Come for free food and drinks, and dancing on my new Tiki dance floor! Enjoy feeding my two parrots, Harry and Hermione, and just have a blast!

Now open almost every night! This is an exclusive club for Dis Members only!

There are no specific times, but usually in the evenings until close. I'll probably post here when it's open. Just search for it...the problem is, I also have a game and a store. I think I'm just working too hard in VMK!

Well, I am having a few problems with non-Dis ppl coming in and wanting to be let thru the rope. I have had 2 say they are dis. One girl told me when asked that her Dis name was the same as VMK name. I said "brb" to go check and she disappeared. I checked my friend list and she was still in the game, but had left. Sure enuf, not Dis. Another girl did the same and sure enuf was not DIS either, and I got banned for asking her what her DIS "title" was. That story is in another thread....

Anyway, my question is: do you think it is rude to have an exlusive club that is open only to DIS members? All my other rooms are open to everyone. Just curious if anyone has thoughts. I am trying to avoid of a bunch of kids (and adults even) begging for my inferno, trying to trade, asking if ppl are "taken", etc. I welcome your opinions on this!

I know, and I have. It just makes me feel bad. Especially when my non-dis friends (all little girls) stop by I'm just wondering if I should keep this a "dis only" place or not. I really want it to be dis only, but as usualy no one reads room info, room titles, or a pic on the wall!

Miakoda this is what I have experienced while having the surf spot open.

The crowd comes in waves...Dis and non did...I myself have on the room description Dis hang out. When there is no line and people are coming and going I NORMALLY don't boot them unless they are being rude and obnoxious. If they are trying to trade, Dis friends usually say no trading ( insert name)...if this continues I boot them.

Now if there is a line to get into the room, I go ahead and boot non Dis out, so that the Dis folks can get in. Now if a fellow Dis member in forms me that a friend is coming in, I try to slow down the boot so that I don't accidently boot them. Unfortunetly I may still boot them on accident.

Basically it comes down to this...Either use the power of the boot or dont. It just depends on how you want to use it. As I see it, VMK gave you the option of it, so you really should not feel bad using it, on people you dont know.

Again if the room has no line, I try not to use it unless there is a need. When it is full and Dis is trying to get in, That is when I would clear those who you dont know and are not Dis....

By the way...Good luck on the new "bear", it is not the easiest thing to do and sometimes it can get a little busy where you can not step away from the computer.....I think besides the game, it is one the most difficult rooms to keep going...The Dis gets really particular on their food and drinks...lol....

I like the idea of dis only. That way everyone there knows eachother and like you said, arent bothering with the "can i have your inferno blah blah blah"

BTW, USE THE BOOT on non Dis.

I like Surferrat's suggestion. I think i'll go with that. Non-Dis can come if they behave, but Dis have priority IF it gets full....we will see if THAT happens! And just so you guys know, I will serve when it's slow, but if I feel like talking or dancing, it turns into a self serve bar! LOL! I'm not working as hard as Surf does, sorry, I do that in my store. I just wanna have fun in there too! But I made it a "magic" bar, so any food or drink you want will appear on the bar if you just say it! (We are a little more technologically advanced...that is all)

Mia,I find it righ to have at least ONE Dis only room. I will be opening my dis room soon. Not telling any info on it yet . But Mia, before you click boot, think about it. Are you really just going to boot someone just because they aren't dis? You have to think before you click! Such as, if your doing a game room, it is understandable to boot someone if they are in the way and you asked nicely if they would move. But are you just going to boot someone? What if they are dis and you just don't know because they are a, on a mule, b don't have they are dis in thier siggy, or c just because you don't think they are? You have to gather the facts before you boot, I suggest these tips,
1: Ask them nicely if they are from dis.If they say they are ask them to post on this thread.
2: If your room is getting full, ask them if they could please step out so other can enter the room.
3: Ask them nicely to please move if your trying to place something in your room down.
4: If they are annoying you with trade requests, ask them to nicely stop and if they don't, that may be a reason to ignore.
5: Ask if they are new to VMK. See if they know anything. See if they didn't know how to move out of the way! Give them some tips then ask nicely if they could please move.
If all else fails and you cannot think of anything nice to do, BRIBE!!! Say you'll give them a shirt if they could please step aside. If they do, give them the shirt. If that doesn't work, then you have a reason to boot them. Not only would they be being rude, but they would be being disrespectful to the room owner. If they continue to be rude and mean, you might have a case to report. Just remember, the black hole is better then the VMK 991. They always give these stupid warnings. Send your reasons for reporting into the black hole and see if you do get an e-mail. Not only would that be a good way to test, but it could save you some major warning! Just remember those tips and go through them in your head.

P.S. I keep having typos today, if you see any just try to ignore it... sorry if you see any!

So I feel silly being exclusive to people at the door when I am the only one in the room. Usually if they are not DIS and I am the only one in the room, I let them in. What the heck. But if they LIE to me (as 2 have) and say they are DIS, give me their DIS title, and I do not find it, I will boot them. I always check if they give me a DIS name, and I cannot stand being lied to. Then they get boot.

As far as moving or being in the way, I haven't had to deal with that yet No Surf Spot status for my club yet! LOL
