Would love to hear about these two restaurants since we are considering them for our TS dinner while at MGM.

Sci Fi or Prime Time Cafe. Both menus look fine and we like the "campy" theme at both. What about food? Service?

We will have a 3 yr old with us and she will love the cars but I am not sure what to expect from the movie? Are the movies scary?? Thanks in advance!!

Food better at PTC,that said a major part of your dining experience is based on your CM server. If server is into role and jokes with you and tables around you also it is a fun experience. If server is having a bad day or just not into role to me it's not a fun experience.Ido like the themeing at Sci-Fi and have had many a good burger and shake at Sci - Fi. :goodvibes  :wave2:

We always go to PTC - the kids get a kick out of the servers and every year they forget it is just a joke! We like the menu here too. Very good

We tried sci-fi a couple of years ago and we did not find it entertaining at all. The moives are old, black and white. I did have a fettucine dish that was good. But we prefer PTC. Sci-fi is in the back of the park too...

We love the onion rings, spinach artichoke dip and milkshakes at Sci Fi. The cars are cool for children. We liked it but wouldn't necessarily go back for dinner. Maybe an afternoon snack and then Prime Time for dinner. Enjoy!!

50's Prime Time is so!! much fun. We took my mom last year and taking my wife's family (11 of us total) this year. This will be a highlight of the trip. We are also going to Sci-Fi too. My 10 year old son loves this place too. They are both great places. I like 50's better. Looks like my grandmother house.

These votes for PTC are making me want to   . I have never been. But, I picked this restaurant for our family for this year. Now, all of you wonderful people. Have made me very happy for choosing to dine here. Question. For dinner, does anyone know the name of a server, I should ask for? TIA! :flower: Oh, yes, and thank you very much OP for posting this. :flower:

DW and I usually do lunch at PTC... prefer the Derby when having dinner in the park. That being said, Cousin Brenda was great. Not sure if she is still there (didn't have her last year) but if you can get her, go for it!

Enjoy some fried chicken for me... I have to wait until December to eat it :sad1:

pirate: :drinking1

My vote is for Prime Time Cafe. The atmosphere can't be beat there. The food is okay, but it was worth it for the fun we had.

Sounds like my original choice of PTC is what I will stick with so I will keep my ADR and maybe try Sci FI for lunch some other trip. Thanks to everyone for relating your experience. SOunds like fun.

We ate at Sci-Fi our last trip. Everyone enjoyed it and the food was good. This trip we're eating at the 50's PT. I'm looking forward to that one.

We've enjoyed both. Burgers are good at Sci-Fi and the grandkids love the cars. Primetime is always entertaining though. One of our grandsons took the ribbing from the server a little too personally and got upset for a few minutes but got over it pretty quickly.

I would agree totally. The waitress we had last year was OK, and so was the food. The waiter next to us was a hoot. I can't remember his name, but I recognized it then from the DIS board. I had more fun watching them, than interacting with our own waitress.

I would do a little research on the DIS board and try to ask for one of the fun waiters that really gets into character. PTC is more for entertainment than a gourmet meal.

I agree, the server can make or break a PTC meal. We had one last time with a gloomy disposition, and I found myself wishing we could change tables to an area where I saw people having fun. Food was decent, tho.
My DS20 requested Sci-Fi for this next trip, so I have booked it, but we plan only to have appetizers and shakes...not about to burn a table service credit on the place. Tha atmosphere in tremendous fun, tho. I love it when someone drops something, and the nearest waiter yells "Gravity Check!".

My DH hates Prime Time. He just doesn't get the humor of it, and he is a funny guy. When we last went, our server was in character and did a great job, but it annoyed him to death. He said he didn't need to be lectured over a meal. I loved my pot roast there but I'll never get DH to go back again.

We liked Sci Fi for lunch, but our 3 year old was afraid of the dark and he didn't really relax the whole time we were there. We moved him to sit near the light in our car, but that didn't really help. The movies scared him a bit but not too much.
