Its simply as FAR as you can go in that direction in MGM.

I'd say at a normal "Disney-brisk" pace, it would take you 7-10 minutes.

Agree with ROBO about how long it would take you to go to Motor Cars.

What time is Fantasmic that night? Is there two shows? That will depend on (IF or) what time to get the package.

H&V....Ugh worst dining place in Disney World in my opinion, but I assume you are going for the character interaction so, I would just go with what time you think you will need to eat. You may want to just plan one of these reserved dining. MGM is a very difficult park to FIT in stuff. Everything revolves around show times and I hate to get there and have to wait for this and that and then fit in dining reservations. In my opinion there aren't any good restraunts here, although MAMA Melrose is the best option for Fantasmic. If there are two shows on the day you are going and you can go to the late show, you probably won't need a package. Just a thought...

Thanks for the walk time . I agree it's hardto figure out .Tha parade at 5 pm is just such bad timefor dinner adr for kids'. I think Fantasmic is at 8;30 but not sureyet The big things they want to do/see are Lights motor Action, and the parade and DGS loves JoJO hence H&V. The Fantasmic package is for the seating, tired kids will not enjoy standing in line for 2hours to get in.Plus plan on sitting near back for quick exit and not so intense.

There is no "LINE" for Fantasmic! (at least for the first show).
Although if you arrive a bit "later", you might find yourself "shuffling in" amid a large slow-moving GROUP, but no "line".
For the first (or ONLY) show of the evening, the theater is simply OPEN, so you walk in, pick your seat(s) and sit down.

If you WANT to sit near the rear of the house, then no need to show up VERY early anyway. Below is a general idea of timing.

No one can predict EXACTLY what will happen on any given day.
It has totally to do with how much time you wish to invest, and the general crowd levels.

VERY Busy days:
If you go to the first show of the evening (or "only" show that evening), if you arrive about 75-90 minutes before show-time, you can sit just about anywhere.
45 minutes before: Good seats
20-30 Minutes: will vary between seats at edges and rear of theater to SRO or even "closed" to further guests.

Busy days:
If you go to the first show of the evening (or "only" show that evening), if you arrive about 50-60 minutes before show-time, you can sit just about anywhere.
40 minutes before: Good seats
25-35 Minutes: will vary between seats at edges and rear of theater to SRO or even "closed" to further guests. (The crowd of "last-minute" arrivals can be slow to get seated before show-time.)

Off-Season (not busy days):
You should be OK to enter by 10-20 minutes before, but you'll likely be seated to the outer edges, and/or way at the back.

If you do the dinner pkg. you can enter 30 minutes before (or a bit later) and still be guaranteed pretty good seats, regardless of crowd-levels.

If there are TWO Fantasmic! shows in one evening, the second one will have lower crowd level than the first one. You can arrive a bit later and still find a seat.

We always plan to eat our evening "meal" IN the Fantasmic! theater.
It makes sitting and waiting in the stands a bit more fun.
They have "baseball stadium"-type concession stands IN the theater.
We have a hot dog and a giant pretzel and some soft drinks in our seats as we wait. (There's even beer, sold strictly one-at-a-time, one-to-an-adult).
Just outside the theater entrance is the large "food court".
You are allowed to carry in food from there as well, but remember that its a LONG WAY up the sidewalk from there to the theater itself.

Be aware that the second show waiting area will LOOK like the show is too crowded.
That's because they HOLD the 2nd crowd outside the theater while the CMs CLEAN it after the first crowd has exited.

Then, they will let those waiting together in that big group IN... all at once, and there will be PLENTY of room.

(The theater holds 10,000 guests!)

I have to disagree with this. There may not need to be a line but there is a line. When I have been there and walked by the outside of the theater there have been people waiting in line before the theater opens. I have never done it myself and I wouldn't, but people do.

That's not a line that needs to be waited in.
As you say, there's no need to do this at all.

Wait until they open the theater.

People have the mistaken notion that they must go early to Fantasmic! and stand in a line until almost showtime. That's simply not how its done.

But, heck, you can find people doing all kinds of foolish things at Disney.

Just don't JOIN them.

Definitely Agree.

Thanks Robo So you are sayingif show starts at 8:30 if we get there by 7:30 we should have no problem getting a seat. Preferably near the backfor easier exit and less intense for DGS(5) I only wanted the Package because I thought you had to stand in line 2 hours. We really wanted to eat at Sci FI for the atmospherer yes I've heard food not greatbut it definately is a better selection than Mama Melroses

The Fantastic dinner packages only seem to offer very early dining times. My DH loves Mama M's and the only dinner time they had available was 4pm. So, if I were you, I'd make the dinner ADR first and then the earliest lunch time possible. You still might not be hungry at dinner time....

Our FDP time was 6:10.

As far as the dining package goes, the reservation times are very, very early (4:00-5:00) when the 180 day reservation windows first open up. Usually, Disney will open up later times for the package closer to the actual date (say, 30-60 days out.)

Unless there is something very VERY unusual, an hour before showtime will get you seats (especially if you don't want "down front") with no trouble and no "lines".

We really like Sci-Fi, not for the food especially, but because its FUN!

Thanks for all the help I think we'll go with either a late breakfast at H & V or early lunch and a 6p.m Sci fi dinner This way we can watch parade ( only for the Power Rangers) and then eat. The kids love the idea of the car tables. One more question . Are the car tables a tight fit for Pooh sizes to the point it would be uncomfortable or impossible?
