We are planning to be at MGM the last week of October. We are not doing any rides, but would like to see the shows--Playhouse Disney, Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, Muppets. Would we be able to see all of the shows in one day plus the parade? I know the show times aren't out yet, but was wondering if anyone knows if they fill up fast? Which one would you recommend we see first?
Also, does anyone know where the character greeting spots are, other than Al's toy barn?

When we went to MGM in May, we got there shortly after the park opened. We went to B&B first, then Little Mermaid, then Muppets, and finished all that by noon. We did not go to Playhouse Disney, however. I don't think we could have squeezed that in before noon.

We did the shows in that order because we had a lunch PS at Mama Melrose's and Muppets is close to that. I think you could easily do Playhouse Disney after lunch in plenty of time for the parade.

You shouldn't have a problem (especially skipping rides - though I do encourage you to hit the GMR at some point in the day! it's family-friendly!), but just make sure you check the schedules and make a definate plan as to which order you will do them in. You can wait until you are at the park, but if you can grab the hours a few days before at the resort (the online hours can differ, always double check with the Disney-printed ones when you get on-site!) you'll be even better off.

Little Mermaid and the Muppets are continuous shows, so they shouldn't be a problem (though Mermaid doesn't open right at park opening) getting into whenever you can squeeze them in. FP Mermaid (since you won't be "wasting" a ride FP) for an extra time savings.

B&TB isn't a tough show to see, but the later in the day the performance is the more crowded it will be. The last show of the day is the most crowded. I'd try for the first one if you can, and your biggest scheduling hurdle will be out of the way.

Are you interested in the other shows? LMA? Indy? Millionaire? LMA is simmilar to B&TB as the ealier shows are better - but I'd FP this one if possible and get it out of the way as early in the day as you can. Indy has thinned out a bit since LMA, and isn't bad any time of day. Same for Millionaire - especially during slower seasons when you are going.

The only show I can't offer advice on is Playhouse, as I've never been; but by not doing rides it gets a whole lot easier to fit all the shows in. It's actually a very good idea - we are planning on devoting one morning/afternoon to shows-only this trip, just so we aren't rushing around so much trying to squeeze in rides at the risk of missing shows. We'll use another afternoon/evening for rides.

Have a magical time! I don't think you will have any problem with just a little bit of planning.

Wow not doing any rides?
Ok well here is my advice.
Make sure to see
-beatuty and the beast (check showtimes upon arrival)
-fastpass for voyage of the little mermaid
-Check out LMA showtimes (fast pass?)
-disney stars and motorcars is generally around 5 or 5:30

Other great show
-If you are traveling with kids make sure to see playhouse disney! (It's a fun show)
- check out indianna jones personally i don't like it but hey maybe you have a fan of him :confused3
- sounds dangerous (nice cool dark place to rest)
-who wants to be a millionaire play it is cool too!

if i think of any other idea/tips i'll post

oh one more thing upon entry to the park make sure to check the
ride wait/ showtimes board it's a big help in planning the day

I would really try and see Playhouse Disney first. They only offer 4 shows a day. And they can fill up really fast. I believe they close the doors 10 mins before the show starts. Beauty and the Beast also has a limited number of shows per day. Make sure you check out the schedule as soon as you enter the park and try and plan your day around that. I really don't see you having a problem fitting all of those shows in on one day. Have fun!

p.s. You can find Jojo and Goliath on Mickey Avenue. Also sorcerer Mickey is on Mickey Avenue. If you go to www.allearsnet.com there is a detailed list of were you can find the characters.

I would say pull a fast pass for little mermaid, get in line early for playhouse Disney or Beauty and the Beast (whichever is more imortant to you). I have never experienced too much of a crowd at the muppet theater and its GREAT! Indianna Jones might be good for after lunch, it seats a huge number of people. Not as exciting for little ones but, my 5 year old liked it.

muppets is a must!
Try to find the key and all the hidden extras

anyways beauty and the beast in stadium seating meaning bleachers most of them are level so get there early to snag a good seat!
same goes for voyage of the little mermaid!

yes playhouse disney fills up fast!
They have a little yellow tape line and children (and adults) are allowed to sit inside the yellow lines there are a few benches around the walls (very few) but they make great seating ( my family snagged one )
You must keep everything outside the yellow line clear...so once they fill that up no more people are aloud in!

You should be able to see all the shows in one day. Obviously I can't predict show times but here's a general guide to see the shows in order as to make sure you'll be able to get in:

Muppets (It's the only one actually open at park opening)
Little Mermaid/Playhouse Disney (Figure out which is showing when and try to work both in right after each as they are right across from each other)
Beauty & the Beast

Regarding the characters, this page should be helpful: http://www.mgmstudios.org/characters.html

Thanks for the plug Bob :)

Lots of great tips everyone--thanks! I actually wasn't sure about even going to MGM since both of my children are disabled and use wheelchairs. Wasn't sure what they would be able to do there. But we looked into the shows and I think they will enjoy them. They cannot tolerate much jarring, but I will check into the Great Movie Ride as another poster suggested. Good to know that some shows are only done a few times and we will plan to do them first. Thanks for the links on the characters too!
