MGM or Animal Kingdom

It's more fun and has better attractions.
Animal Kingdom is my least favorite of all the parks

My favorite park is Animal Kingdom. The park has lots of greenery and tree coverage to escape the heat. The water fountains are usually ice cold (especially the one by the bathhouse) and doesn't have that funky taste most other Disney water fountains have. You can cool off by the fountain outside the bathhouse. Great for overheated kids and sore tootsies. And it seems no matter how crowded, you're not packed in. You really don't notice just how many people are there until closing time and you see throngs of people headed for the exits. Primevil Twirl coaster, Dinosaur and Kali River Rapids are our fav rides. The only drawback is that it closes so early. I've heard that once Expedition Everest opens they will be extending the park hours. Yippee!!

I choose AK!! It has the best show in all Disney World and the best parade, too. We enjoy the safari and the uniqueness of the park. Our family agrees that MGM is out-dated--except for RnR.

MGM for sure. My family loves thrill rides, the Disney Characters and shows. Animal Kingdom is great, with the Safari, Kali River Rapids, Dinosaur and It's Tough To Be a Bug, but it doesn't compare to MGM. The Tower of Terror is awesome, the Rockin Roller Coaster is Disney's best, making MGM's thrill rides better. Indiana Jones, the Backlot tour, the Little Mermaid, Muppet 3D, Honey I Shrunk the Audience, and the Great Movie Ride are milder, but still entertaining.

I like both now that EE is at AK...but I'll have to go with MGM. MGM has two of the best thrill attractions in the entire World.

I am not a big fan of AK and MGM is my 2nd favorite park at WDW so this is a no-brainer for me. I would pick MGM. More stuff to do for everyone in the family. You have great shows, rides, and you have the street performers that could show up at any time. I may be more persuaded to pick AK after EE opens up but for right now, there is not a lot for me there.

I LOVE MGM!! :) It is also my 2nd favorite park. We usually end making several visits there. I just love the theming and the street scapes and the attractions are so diverse. DS loves RnR Coaster, DH loves ToT, DS loves Playhouse Disney, I love the Backlot Tour. It also seems like there are so many characters!! I could do without AK but MGM is my fave!! :)

Well it all depends on which features you are looking for and who is going. If I absolutely had to chose one over the other, it would have to be MGM. I would definately have to beg, borrow or steal to find a way to do both! They are really like comparing apples to oranges. I'd hate to have you miss out on AK! But I guess I'd hate to have to miss out on MGM more.
Extend your vacation! Please please please see them both!
Ah well, enjoy MGM! :earsboy: :scared1: :upsidedow

We're animal people, so we prefer AK. At MGM most options are thrill rides or shows. Thrill rides are out with a timid DS5. Walk around and go to shows? Not what we're looking for. (You try keeping an active 5 year-old happy with show after show and let me know how that goes for you--we tried it and :crazy2:!!)Once our sensitive guy gets a little braver/taller/older, maybe we'll change our tune and allot more time to MGM.

AK, on the other hand, has a lot more for little or timid folks to do. Three thrill rides (once EE opens) but plenty of great attractions that don't discriminate against the younger or wimpier crowd. Maharaja Jungle Trek, anyone?! :worship: (A-mazing!)

If you are looking for lots of thrills, AK is not for you. Go, ride the thrills, then head for another park (say, MGM!). If you're looking for fabulous theming and more discovery than thrills, AK is the place for you.

Just my two cents. . .

Disney-MGM is my favorite park and AK is my least favorite, so the choice is obvious for me. I just can't go to Disney-MGM without doing the Great Movie Ride, Tower of Terror, Beauty and the Beach, and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster.

There are some good things at AK, but the only thing I would really feel bad about missing is the Festival of the Lion King.

This is when park hoppers are great. We went to AK to hit the safari, Bug's Life and the dinosaur ride then went to MGM for a couple of rides. Unfortunately, since it was Christmas vacation the lines were so bad we actually left the park without doing anything.

Animal Kingdom over the Studios. But I'm not a tower of terror guy.
