MGM - hand/foot prints in concrete???

Hi everyone - quick question for you.

I have a friend from Nashville that took a trip to MGM and took a picture of her DD near the hand & foot prints in the concrete just next to the Great Movie Ride. Does this area have a name? She's scrapbooking the picture, and wanted to know.

I don't know that it has an 'official' name, but it's the forecourt of the Chinese Theatre (a replica of the one in Hollywood, which has celebrity hand/footprints in front).

Yes, there are also a couple in the court at the top of Theater of the Stars. The rest are in the courtyard of the Chinese Theater.

You've got it right.

The "official" name of this area IS the "FORECOURT".

That's what its called at the original location, Mann's (formerly Grauman's ) Chinese Theater in Hollywood, CA.

Most of the prints you see in the Disney World replica where created back when Dis/MGM Studios first opened and they had a feature called "Star of the Day" (or "Star of the Week").

A "name talent" was brought in to that location, by limo, to sign autographs and place their "prints" in cement.

That rarely happens these days.
