Disney hasn't "closed" on the deal with Pixar yet so they are still two seperate entities at this time.

In early March at the annual meeting, Eiger said that the Disney-Pixar deal would close in late April or May. So I would expect that no rumored character meal would be "announced" until at least the deal is closed -- at the earliest.

I can't wait for this to happen! I am going 9-29 and would love to take my son to a character breakfast he would enjoy. Just made ADR for CRT today (4-2-06) and I know that my daughters (8 & 4) will be very happy, but my son (6) will be grumpy about it!

Still Nothing.

I finally made an ADR at Sci Fi for lunch. I can't wait any longer. Although, if it is available for our trip, I would be willing to change it.

Bumping and hoping. i'm going to be making ADRs this week (as soon as my unofficial guide comes so I can decide which days to do in which parks, so I can decide where to eat! ) and am hoping for a Buzz meal. It would be great to do our first night since dh has had it with Chef Mickey's and I'm looking for an alternative character meal...

:rolleyes1

Breakfast and Beyond – not gonna happen?
The latest information that I've been given about the Breakfast and Beyond meal is that it won't be happening. Word is that the previously reported friction with Pixar may have been much stronger than thought, and that they canned it completely. In its place is now tentatively going to be a Playhouse Disney-themed breakfast. No further details at this time. We'll let you know if we hear more.

Thanks for the post! A Little Einsteins breakfast would be great, but a "Playhouse Disney" theme could be just about anything.

I still think a hero themed meal would be a great addition to the line up at MGM. They could have anyone from Luke Skywalker and Indiana Jones, to Aladdin and Hercules. My kids are too old for a Playhouse Disney themed meal. I'll still hoping for something new for my trip in June. Thanks to all who keep checking daily.

I agree with you. A Playhouse Disney meal, though very cute, is definitely too young for my family. I think that the market they most need a restaurant for is boys (and girls) older than Playhouse Disney age.

Nothing today.
How long do you think I sould keep calling. I do not mind doing it but if now it is going to be a playhouse disney meal (something I have no interest in, having DS's 8 & 13) I am not sure it is worth it for me. What do the rest of you think?

I know I may be in the minority here, but a Playhouse Disney Show for my two kid's under the age of 5 would be a HUGE deal. I have thought that made sense from the beginning since Bear's new show is "Breakfast with Bear". My kids LOVE playhouse disney and all of the shows on it. If there was a breakfast with Bear, JoJo, Little Einsteins, any of those characters my kids would FLIP!!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

When I made my ADR's Sunday for free dining I asked about Toy Story and was told basically the same thing that this CM did not think it was happening this year. So I guess it's true. Playhouse Disney would be great for my two younger ones....but my 7 yr old DS would give me a hard time on that one....he's already doing 1900 Park Fare. :)

Make a big deal about Cindy calling him my prince. I saw a boy of about 7-9 there with him parents this summer and he was " dressed up" with a sorcer Micky hat. there were not other kids with him.

I, too, have ZERO interest in Playhouse Disney as I have DD9 and DS10.

The reason a good many of us were so pumped about a possible Pixar meal is that there would FINALLY be something geared toward boys AND older children. I mean, Pooh is great and all, but it wears pretty thin when you have kids that are the ages mine are. And we all love Mickey, but hey, if there can be 3 princess meals on property, I don't think asking for a little variety for boys and the older kids is too much to ask.

I second the idea someone had a few posts earlier...if Pixar is in a snit over this (but if Disney is acquiring them, I don't know why this can't happen once that is final), then put some characters in there that are a little more Studios specific.

How about Indy and Luke and Leia? Or something? Of course, that probably opens a whole 'nother can of worms in getting George Lucas to sign off on that since those are his characters, too.

What a shame -my DS will be 9 and DD3 when we go in Oct. We are doing 1900 Park and CM-
Yeah playhouse would be fun but how about the kids a little older? My son would go nuts for a Power Ranger meal

Playhouse would be okay for my ds4...he likes bear in the big blue house. But I can't understand why there isn't another boy character meal. how hard would it be to do alladin and captain hook and peter pan or something like that? I can only assume that they don't think there's a market for it or they would have done it already.

Buzz and Woody would still be the absolute best for us. Oh well...

Beth :)

This is so frustrating. Fine, don't have pixar. They can have the original idea of a "Heros" meal. This could include The Power Rangers, Hercules, Alladin, Prince Charming, Tarzan, and Peter Pan.

I am sorry but a playhouse disney breakfast would not thrill our family.

My son would LOVE a Power Rangers meal too!!!!

We were so hoping for a Buzz & Woody meal by August rolled around also. It doesn't look good. I agree, Playhouse would not work for us either...we don't watch most of those shows. Now, Power Rangers, the boys would LOVE that! My DS1 would be in heaven!
