MGM Character Meal Update Thread

How do you reconcile the fact that some CMs are saying yes, there is going to be one, and others are saying they just got a memo saying it's not true?

There aren't any CM's saying it's not true. One CM said she was instructed by memo "to tell guests that no new character meal is scheduled." That doesn't mean there isn't one being planned, it just means it's not on the schedule yet.

And there was a character audition listed on the official Disney site--checked it with my own eyes--so there is going to be one. We just don't know when it's going to start, and what the details are in regards to exactly which restaurant, which meals and which characters.

Have faith! I trust a Disney website and multiple friendly CM's who keep encouraging us over one cranky CM!

I emailed BWI concierge IPO to ask that this be added to our list of "wishes" for our trip in May if it should become available. I said that I understood it was just rumor but since we will be celebrating both DSs 6th b-day and his kindergarten graduation and he loves both the Toy Story gang and the Incredibles, if it does happen this is a "must do" for us so I would appreciate their help in booking it. Their response was...

As of right now, the Toy Story/Incredibles character dining is still just a rumor. I did put a note in our system that you are interested in this dining experience should it pan out between now and May.

So they have nothing specific either. I was hoping maybe they had been tipped off as to what to expect. She did say they have several people asking about it.

Yesterday evening I called to make a reservation for the Living Seas Aqua Tour. When I was through with that ressie the nice CM asked if I wanted to make any Dining ressies. I told her I had already made all of mine, however I was wondering if there was going to be a character meal at MGM. She said call back by the end of March, something should happen by then. She couldn't confirm characters-but she was very sincere with her suggestion. She also said it will definitely be a breakfast and possibly even a lunch.

I asked a CM at the beginning of the week if there was going to be a Toy Story Character meal at MGM and she had no idea.
