As I'm compiling my itineraries for our upcoming January trip, the list of "must-sees" at MGM is pretty small. Is it worth it to spend a day there or would our time be better spent at the other parks?

Our family is me, my husband and the 6 year old princess. TOT and RNR are out. The trip will be for 5 days. We did the same trip last year and easily filled up all 5 days at MK and Epcot.

I've currently planned for one morning at MGM (potentially extending into early afternoon), and one evening (dinner and Fantasmic). Thinking maybe I should just skip the morning....

Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Great Movie ride, Star tours, eating at Pizza Planet these are all things my 6 and (almost) 5 yo daughters LOVE to do at MGM...

My DD is 6. She LOVES Mermaid, the Beauty and the beast show, Honey I shrunk the kids playground, Playhouse Disney, Star Wars and seeing the Little Einsteins.

This summer when we went to MGM it was all about the HSM Pep Rally for my dd5. Are they still doing this? The venue could have been better but I thought the performers were great.

Ahh..... MGM is my favorite park. I think she would love Beauty and the Beast, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, HSM Pep Rally, and even the parade. Is it still Cars and Stars? I know I new parade is in the works though. Does she like to draw? My girls (8 and 5) love the Animation building -- especially the part where you learn to draw a character.

I know many disagree with me; but if you are seeing the shows, the Studios are a full day park because you have to work with the show times. Plus, you can't always just show up at 10:30 for a 10:30 show. You need to get there early.

Whatever you decide.... have a great time.

I am not a fan of MGM, and I didn't find that DD6 (at the time) loved it, either. DD6 did not seem to find MGM that great. The attraction that she liked the most was the Muppets, although she would also love the HSM show (we missed it in January - I think that it was on a break or at a different park). She liked Great Movie Ride the least. We missed Beauty and the Beast, but, judging from her reactions to Voyage and Playhouse Disney, I don't think that she missed anything.

We are planning to go to MGM next time (in January for 8 days) for HSM, Beauty and the Beast, and the Playhouse Disney character breakfast (I also have DD3). I would have skipped it, but DH convinced me that DD7 would love HSM and DD3 would love the Playhouse Disney characters. I would also like to see the Animation attraction, but I don't know how much DD3 and DD7 will like it. With limited days, I would skip it or just spend a half day at MGM.

Check show times before you go, and you can plan around that (times can change, so check right before you go)...

Have a great trip!

Is Voyage of the Little Mermaid new?

My kids love MGM. They could go on the Great Movie Ride 5 times in a row. Isn't Star Tours there too?

How about meet and greets ? If DD is the adventurous type, there's chances to get autos/photos with Kim Possible and the Yellow/Pink Power Ranger ! :thumbsup2

We were at WDW in September, and my middle DD, who had just turned 7, enjoyed: Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Muppets 3D, Star Tours, Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground, eating at Pizza Planet, and (although she won't admit it now) the Playhouse Disney Live on Stage show. We didn't see Beauty and the Beast, because no one in the family really likes that movie.

I, personally, think MGM is worth a short visit, but for us, it's only about a 1/2-a-day park. We can easily spend 2 full days in each of the other parks, but MGM just doesn't appeal to us that much.

I'd agree with others, the first year we went dd was 6, and she loved the shows, pizza planet, and the character meet n greets. We stayed for fantasmic which she wasn't quite thrilled with. She loved the Lights Action show, and in general the whole park. This past year we had the in laws with us so dh and I got to go on ToT, and this year she wasn't as enthralled with the shows. However, she says she did like MGM.

We are not fans of MGM, however the animation place (by little mermaid and playhouse) was really cool. It was the first time we stopped in there. DD met incredibles and Remy.

Also we did Indiana Jones for the first time and DD thought it was so cool! Pizza planet was fun to eat at, the stunt show isnt bad. You can spend a day here just watching everything. Beauty and the beast is good, Mermaid, the parade is also really cute here.
