Hi everyone,
i will be in orlando for 2 days nexy year in may as part of a contiki tour. We will be there over a sunday and monday. I was wondering if it is possible to do both MGM and Animal Kingdom in one day? If so which order would you suggest to do these two parks?
On our second day we are planning to do universal studios/IOA. We will go to Disneyland in Los Angeles so we won't be going to magic kingdom in Florida.
Thanks

i would do animal Kingdom first..see the animals early etc....You could probably have everything done you want and be at MGM by 2 or 3..then you play until close at MGM and watch Fantasmic! Have fun.....

I agree with the above poster. AK is a park best done in the early morning anyway. Just make sure you know what the hours are and arrive at your first park 30 minutes before opening. However, I would just be aware that with both of these parks you will in no way be able to see anywhere near everything. Animal Kingdom is a very large, spread out park and you'll also eat up about an hour hopping over to MGM. But it can be done and in fact we frequently combine these two parks into one day. I would pick your top three or four things to do at each one. If you aren't familiar with the parks, I would suggest a guide book like Birnbaums (it has nice pictures and short, brief descriptions, not overwhelming like the UG, just my opinion) and also checking out the WDW website to see attraction and show descriptions. And I also second seeing Fantasmic as a finale to your day. Its a great show!

The above posters are absolutely correct! Hit AK first and then MGM for the second half of the day. AK is big and gets really hot fast, so hit it in the morning when it is cooler. Fantasmic is a great way to end the night and remember you can get in line for a ride right until closing time to fit in that one last ride on ToT or RnR!

It also has a good section on a day in each park, but more importantly for you a section on half days in the park. It's pretty good advice.

It sounds like your schedule won't allow it, but for future reference:
I grew up going to Disneyland, and I can say from experience that the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland are two different experiences, both worthy of the trip. While we both know there are some crossover in rides, even the ones that crossover have some differences (two tracks in Space Mountain, for instance), and remember that Florida retains some things that Disney no longer has (Carousel of Progress, Country Bears Jamboree, etc), as well as some things we never had (Stitch's Great Escape, for one of many). It is a different park, and is a lot of fun to explore in its own right!

thanks for all your advice, i think we will try it in one day. It's good to know what to do first.

And hopefully never will, Disney wouldn't make that same mistake twice!!
