MGM Advice

Me and my boyfriend will be taking our first vacation to MGM (Orlando) the weekend of Aug.19th. We will either be visiting the park Friday the 19th or Sunday the 21st. Which day will be less crowded? Also overall, do the crowds usually thin a bit in August? Thanks for your help in advance!

I believe the crowds shouldnt be so bad because alot of school have started or about to start at that time.. I think you should do MGM on fri, EP on Sat and MK on Sun for crowd reasons..

Welcome to the DIS!!! Sunday is scheduled to be an evening EMH (Extra Magic Hours) day at MGM for Disney resort guests, so I would avoid that day. It will probably be crowded in the morning too because some people staying onsite will have park tickets that do not include hopping.

Friday is actually morning EMH at Magic Kingdom, so that should be a great time to go to MGM, especially if you can get there at opening. Most of the resort guests will be a Magic Kingdom that morning.

Let us know if you have any other questions. Make sure you use Fast passes as much as possible, and check out the new Stunt show ride. If you want to take a mid-day or dinner break, you can take the boat to the Boardwalk or Beach Club Resort. There's several fun restaurants at the Boardwalk--the Brewery and ESPN Zone, and Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club is the best place to get burgers and ice cream. It does get crowded though.

I usually go here . http://www.touringplans.com/BestDays.htm . when I want to check which day to go to which park. It ranks your 2 days a 7 meaning that the longest you should wait for the busiest rides of the day is 70 minutes. On the 2 columns on the right it shows which park will be the busiest and which will be the least crowded. The crowds stay relatively busy till after Labour day, when the kids go back to school.
