Do you dress up for dinner on Mexicalifragilistic night - or is just for a party. Ie.. if you don't plan on going to the party do you need to be in this "Mex" attire for your regularly scheduled dinner?

The party is in all dining restarurants that night, so you're going to be part of the party in one way or another. Mexcian or tropical wear would do fine. They bring a local Mariachi band onboard to entertain during dinner.

I bought Mexican dresses (new) for my daughter and me off of e-bay before our Magic Western cruise. I then bought a shirt for my daughter's boyfriend that day in Tulum. It was fun to be dressed for the party. The photos we had taken that night are worth the price of the outfits. And I saved them just in case we take another one.

I also did the Eastern a year ago and bought a tropical dress. But I think I enjoyed the Western dinner and party more.

What exactly did you look up on eBay? I can't seem to find anything for myself but did find a great shirt for DH.

Happy Cruising!

I bought my DH a tropical-looking polo shirt to wear for Mexicali, but should he wear khaki pants with it, or are shorts OK? I know shorts aren't generally acceptable for dinner, but I thought the tropical nights were an exception.

You thought correctly.

Yes, except for BUCKAROO'S DAD!!!

Yes, shorts are perfect for that night. LOTS of people wear shorts that night.

I searched for the dresses with "Mexican dress" . That was last December and I had lots of choices. Just for fun, I went and looked just before posting this reply. As of this morning, there were 123 entries under "Mexican dress." If you don't find what you like or the correct size, check back in a couple of days. I didn't buy "vintage" dresses because I was not sure of what they might really look like. Both dresses I bought were brand new. I think I paid $22.00 for one and about $25.00 for the other.

I keep mine hanging in the closet for my next Western cruise. My daughter wears hers around her apartment as a "house dress" or robe before she dresses for the day. She swears that it is so comfortable.
