We are going on the eastbound repo cruise and we need to stay in touch with DFIL. We have a Verizon cell phone and are wondering if anyone has any experience with cell phone service in Cabo San Lucas, Acapulco, the Panama Canal or Curacao. If we can't use the cell phone we will probably have to resort to the ship-to-shore phones, but at $6.95 a minute, there will have to be some pretty short calls. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I called verizon the other day about the exact samething. I gave the lady all our ports (except castaway cay) and she said that it should work everywhere. She did say we may have a spot where it's dead service, but it was good. She told me it will be $0.65 a minute. But that sure does beat the $6.95 onboard.

See you onboard :wave2:

We are on the same Cruise and also have Verizon (Can you hear me now?) Do we have to add service for there? Or is it just charged by the minute as roaming? TIA

When I called, they pulled up my account info. I'm not sure what plan you have, so you may want to call and ask them. I think I have the America's Choice plan if that helps anyone. ;)

They just told me it was $0.69 a minute. So it must be roaming. No special software or any other plans to purchase.

See you onboard!
