Ok,
I have always wanted to try the restaurant at Mexico in Epcot!
It looks so nice when we took the boat ride.

So will I love it...I am a huge fan of Chips and Salsa and I love Margarita's! :cool1:

We are planning our trip for May 2006....Should I plan for dinner around 5 ish...Things will be pretty hot by then and we could cool off before evening sets in.

I call for ADR at the end of the month and that is one place on my list. :teeth:

Hey Michelle!

How's your post-cruise recovery going? Mine not so well...I keep looking for the shrimp and can't seem to find it anywhere in the house! :teeth:

Jason and I had dinner in this restaurant a couple of years back and it was pretty good (and I am not a fan of Mexican food). Loved the atmosphere - very cool and romantic.

Be sure to let us know how it is if you end up going there - Jason and I are headed back to WDW in October.

I've always enjoyed it. Not the best Mexican food I've ever had, but it was good and the atmosphere is wonderful--especially if you can get a table by the water.

We've had dinner at San Angel Inn twice. The theming is great, but that was really all we liked about it. We gave it two tries just in case we caught them on a bad night the first time. We didn't like the food (not even the chips and salsa!) and our service was slow and inattentive. Plus, we felt crowded in with the other diners. The margaritas weren't good either - the ones at the stand next to the counter service restaurant are much better.

We love the Mexican pavilion, but we just go on the boat ride now to enjoy the theming - and we get our margaritas from the stand outside.

Having said all that, a lot of people love San Angel Inn. I'm glad we tried it for ourselves. If it sounds good to you, go and see what you think - it could end up being one of your favorites! :)

The atmosphere is fantastic. The food and service....not so much.

The food was just sort of bland and boring and I couldn't get another drink to save my life - and there were only 4 tables!

Anyway, give it a whirl once, if for nothing else but getting to sit and watch the boats and scenery.

We eat here every visit to Disney. Atmosphere is great...food is good. :)

Would never go again! Atmosphere is great. That is the only great thing about it. The food is poor. Chips and Salsa? You'd have better right out of the chip isle at the local grocery store. The service was the WORST we have ever had at all of WDW!

My husband and I really like dining here and we love Mexican food. The food is good and the margaritas are too. We enjoyed the Queso Fundido appetizer very much as well as our dinners. The atmosphere is great, it relaxes us after a hectic day. :earsgirl:

I say try it and decide. Loved the theme. Food was good. We have gone several times and will go back again I'm sure.

The atmosphere is great, the food is only so so. My biggest complaint was that people on the boat ride were constantly taking pictures of the volcano and of the restuarant and using flash. It got irritating after a while, and made us feel blinded. I would not eat there again because of this.

The atmosphere is the only good thing about it, really. The food is blah and nowhere near as good as the other authentic places we have in Orlando, the tables are way too close together, and service is lacking.

The margaritas are downright horrible, so if you like them, stay away. I think they're worse than the margaritas outside, and that's saying something.

We were here last week, and while I prefer the Mexican plate I get for 6.95 at my local place, we did enjoy this experence.

We ate at Cindy's, Brown Derby, San Angel Inn, and Crystal Palace. The best service by FAR was from Miguel at San Angel Inn. He served properly, never reaching across the table, and he crumbed the table between each course. His style of service was more what I would expect from a 4 star restaurant...

Well as you see my post cruise recovery is not going well! :rotfl: I am already planning my next adventure.....This time to Disney World!! ::MickeyMo

I see a lot of mixed reviews of this restaurant...Heck we might as well try it.

Any other suggestions as to where to eat at Epcot?? Italy??

I loved looking at your pictures!! Martini's looked good! :goodvibes

Bye for now. :wave2:

I'll agree with most of the other posters on this thread. If you want to give San Angel Inn a try for the atmosphere then go ahead and do it. It really is a wonderful spot.

Beyond that, keep your expectations low and you won't be disappointed ;). The food is average at best, the service less than impressive. We had a wonderful meal there 15 years ago on our honeymoon, but then again isn't everything wonderful on you honeymoon? We've been back a few times since and it just didn't live up to our first visit.

Do avoid going there with any kind of package, as they always seem to heap restrictions on you if you are on a package. Can't have this, can't do that.......etc.

I must be the oddball here. I loved the salsa and the vegetarian combo dish was delish!!

As others have already said, the posts about San Angel are really extreme. People either love it or hate it, so definitely try it. We had lunch there because I was really craving mexican food. It satisfied my craving, but by no means was what I would consider good mexican food. The atmosphere was great, and so were the margaritas!

Food quality and service was poor when we went a few months ago. The tables are jambed together so tightly, you could hardly get between them. We won't be going back any time soon.
