Mexico at EPCOT - San Angel restaurants

Don't make the mistake I made. There are 3 places to eat in Mexico; La Cantina de San Angel, La Hacienda de San Angel, and San Angel Inn Restaurante...I made reservations at the wrong one.

I was intending on going to the one that has the night sky above it where the Three Caballeros boat ride travels through (San Angel Inn Restaurante). I made my reservation through the My Disney Experience app and got a table for myself and my guest. Well come to find out I had made a reservation for the wrong restaurant (the Hacienda de San Angel off the lake). I am definitely to blame because I didn't look at all the restaurants they have there but I also assumed there was just a sit down one and the fast food/Margarita place, La Cantina. All the same, Disney should probably also name them differently. All I thought was "Angel" and so that stuck out, and I selected the first Angel.

Just be aware:

La Cantina de San Angel - quickie food place on the lake, serves Margaritas, no reserv's needed
La Hacienda de San Angel - sit down restaurant on the lake
San Angel Inn Restaurante - THE ONE WITH THE BOAT AND NIGHT SKY, lol!

I don't know why they named them so similarly. I am sure you aren't the only one to make that mistake. We enjoy San Angel Inn. Haven't eaten at the other sit down one yet.

Yeah it was irritating, and you're right I am likely not the only one who made that mistake. A little variance would help.

I was only eating in Mexico for the ambiance of the boat ride and stars, as I live in FL and great Mexican food is aplenty here. I was miffed.

I would have been too. We are eating there later in the month for my daughter's birthday. She loves that ride and sitting there eating by the pyramid.

Kind of like Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness. Don't know how many times I've seen someone write Fort Wilderness Lodge, which doesn't exist. Or Wilderness Lodge Cabins.

Now sure exactly how the deal works but the family that owns the San Angel Inn in Mexico City runs these restaurants so I assume they want their brand on all of them.

We wanted the opposite OP, we didn't want the one with the boat. I was confused at first but managed to figure it out in time to make the right reservation. Thank goodness for the DIS!

Bummer but I'm sure it all worked out fine in the end. I feel like La Hacienda has the better food while San Angel has the better atmosphere. You can always hop over to Le Cava for a Margerita.

We actually prefer the menu at La Hacienda de San Angel over the other one but they took it off the TIW card so we rarely go any more. Wonderful spot to watch Illuminations from during a late dinner.
