Mexican Riviera July 20, 08...Hola Amigos

Well it looks like our ranks are getting smaller. Hey! I just made our final payment:banana:   of course we dont have anything left for the next two months:rotfl2: :lmao: Beans and rice for breakfast, lunch and dinner.:worship: Thats ok God will provide, he always does.

Hey guys - sorry - didn't mean to go AWOL. Its been a busy month so far and I've got one more birthday to go. Plus - I've been riding DH about getting airlines tickets for us since we only leave in about.....oh - 29 days? Nothing like cutting it close right? Anyway, we too get to do the PIF dance.... :yay: :dance3: :cheer2: Dropped off a check on Tuesday so we are all paid off - this upcoming one in May more like 29 days and then the family cruise - this one and the August repo. Hated giving up all that money but had to do it. :confused3

Hi,

I'm also game for a pre-meet. No need to ask me twice. :yay:

I made the final payment today. and I feel really good right now. :cool1:

Hey, does everyone receive a crusie travel kit ? I picked mine up from AAA and it has come in very handy.

CONGRATS...... :dance3: :cheer2: :yay:
We need to come up with an image for our cruise with the "Hola Amigos" theme.

What do you all think of this?

Hi all! Long time no post! Wanted to find out if anyone has a DD around 10 or 11 y.o. My DD would love to find a penpal before the cruise. We did this before our last cruise and it made such a difference! She and the other girl still email each other - and it has been 2 years!

If so, please PM me and I will have my DD respond (she has been buggin me for days, no weeks, to post this :rotfl: )

My DD is writing to squirrelgirl's DD. :thumbsup2 Now my DS wants a penpal, too! Anyone have a 9 or 10 year old boy who is willing to write to my boy? ;)

Please PM me to get details, thanks.

It's time to book those excursions and Palo reservations!

:wave2: Vern - I see your up early!

I had a rude surprise last night at midnight - I PIF'd 10 days ago but apparently DCL had my check go to a PO box. So I left a nasty message on my TA's message machine - (OK - so Steve did it) and since she's not in until Tuesday - basically said we would never go through her again. Ca you imagine - she came into the office and got DCL on the phone and did an immediate bank transfer so what I am trying to say is:

WE BOOKED THE CANOPY ADVENTURE IN PUERTO VALLERTA!!!

I saw your linked to us but didn't sign you up just in case either one of you is afraid of heights. I am but what the heck - I want to do this.

I signed us up for the 8:15 tour if anyone wants to join us! The more the merrier!

We're not big Palo people so I'm going to pass on that but heck! I got what we wanted! (amid a bit of trouble - but its done)

Ok - everyone else - chime in - what are you all going for?

WHAT? :maleficen

Still no activity - this is sad folks - I know there are others that have PIF'd - come - lets put our two cents in! :yay:

90 days until we spend 7 glorious days with each other! :rotfl:

I"m still waiting.......popcorn::

anyone else signing up for excursions yet? popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn::

Sorry it's been so long to post, I've been running kids everywhere. We finally slowed this week, of course as soon as baseball, softball, and swim team starts it will all begin again. At least I have the summers off work! Of course if teachers didn't we'd probably need straight jackets!:lmao:

Anyway I digress!

What is PIF'D

I have signed up for excursions. We are doing a variety of things and sometimes my family will be going in different directions. We are doing Cabo Beach Break, Sportfishing, Best of Mazatlan, Shrimp Fest, Canopy in PV, Dolphin Signature Swim, Observer, and Paradise Beach Adventure.
Got Palo reserved too. I have to say the concierge ladies were fabulous:worship: :worship: They were able to book the rest of our linked party so we could all go at the same time for excursions:banana: :cloud9:

I am now trying to figure out what to do at Disneyland before and what limo service to use. If anyone has any suggestions I would GREATLY appreciate it!

If you look at some of the other cruise threads, they got alot going on on their cruise, Why can't we? Hello everyone,

We are new to this post but not to Disney! This will be our fourth cruise but FIRST West coast. We booked it last time but had to cancel due to health, then booked the Mediter. but then got pregnant! So here we are. I just convinced my DH that we needed to go since we did not own in taxes this year--WHOO HOO! So two days later we picked this date and we are all booked. We now have three children DS 14+ almost 15, DS 7, and sweet little princess 16 months. She will be the close to the same age as our youngest son was the first time we went. He was known as the dancing baby the entire week. I am sure she will have a great time.

I would love to meet up. I did read some of the other threads and it looks like there is some fun stuff planned. I have never known to get on groups before the trip so this sounds pretty fun. Any ideas of what we should plan? Or have I missed the thread? I am pretty new to this so I am pretty clueless.

We look forward to meeting or getting to know you all. We are very excited!

Hi Everybody !!

I am not planning on any excursions at this time since this will be our first Disney Cruise. We really want to explore the Magic. I may have a change of heart once at port but I'll decide then.

I'm thinking of going to the Port when the WB Repo docks in San Pedro in May to "check things out" pre-cruise but I'm afraid I will not be permitted near the Magic. All I want is just a glimse of the ship before our cruise. DD thinks this would be a tease since she wants to experience this all at once when we board. It's only twenty-something miles from home so I can always head back if denied. :sad1:

Welcome Dancing Mickey's:banana:   If you have any ideas for plans & things to do don't hold back:thumbsup2 If you read the first post on our thread, Robin will post the info about ya'll (if want too) so that we can get know ya. So gald to have ya aboard!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
I didn't mean to sound harsh on my last post, so I'm very sorry if I offended anyone. I just thought that I would light a fire of intrest:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: so that we can really have some fun on this cruise. (not that we won't have fun on a Disney Cruise):grouphug: of course it's Disney... It's the Year of a Million Dreams:earsboy:

Welcome Dancing Mickeys!!! I see you are from N. California as well....what part? We live just outside of Sacramento towards Tahoe. It is the El Dorado Hills/Folsom area. I also have a DS that will be just a month shy of turning 14. Maybe they can do some emailing if your son is interested. I also have a DS that is 16. We are counting down the days around here.....Can't wait. We haven't booked any excursions due to the fact that we are waiting on the rest of our group. We are the only one out of a group of 4 staterooms that are return cruisers. Don't want to book something and then them not be able to book. Oh well, won't be long!!!!

Thanks for the Welcome! My DH thinks I am crazy emailing about the cruise "so far in advance"....we are used to being last minute people. I do like to plan things out but I normally do it:) Then I can do what I want to do:woohoo:

We are in the middle of a big dance show so I haven't had much time to look into port excursions. We may go do our own thing but still unsure. I got a travel book from AAA to see what to do outside of what Disney is offering. When we went on the 4 night cruise, one of the ports we just got in a taxi and did all the things we wanted to do. We have never been to this side of Mexico so it will be new for us.

My DH told me he would be happy to stay on the ship while I take the older ones out. This will be the first time we have a "TEEN" on the ship so that will also be a new thing.

We are GYT for Catagory 12. That means we have no room assignments yet. It was cheaper for our family of 5 to get two rooms insead of the Catagory 4 family suite. In the past we have been asked if we wanted to upgrade and that has worked out for us nicely. But we are fine with the Cat. 12. We are not in our room very much anyways and they are A LOT bigger than some other cruise lines! Last time we cruise with 21 other family members on my husband side (all of his siblings, their families, and his parents...family reunion). We did the Western Carribean that time. I have been itching to go back ever since.

Well now I am babbling....Oh. We live in the Bay Area close to Berkley/Oakland area! We plan to drive down a few days early...try to sneak in a day or two and Disneyland and then go to the port...Does anyone know if Disney does anything special at the Port? We always have a great time there and my kids look forward to meeting and making new friends before we get on board.

Hi and welcome :thumbsup2 I have added some of your information on page 1. If you would like me to add more please let me know. PMing me would be easiest.

Brandy, I changed your seating time and thanks for letting me know :thumbsup2
If you are looking to go to the Port there is a Restaurant there that many people go to to watch the cruise ships sail and wave to the passengers. Not sure of the name but if you call the port(look under port info page 1) you can call them and ask what the name of it is.

If you decide not to book excursions there are plenty of thing you can do on your own in Mexico. And cheaper also. If you are in Cabo you can take a glass bottom boat tour which is fun. You wont see much fish but you will have a fun boat ride and a small tour, than when your done walk over to the water taxi's and ask them to take you to the best resort to hang and use there pools. Also in Cabo be careful of swimming in the water. There is a strong undertow in many parts.

Look on the first page also for the Link to Mazatlan Frank and go read it. He will tell you of places to go on your own like Hotels and such. We will be going to Plaza Mazatlan Hotel great beach and in the middle of the Golden zone for shopping. this is one of DCL beach tours but you can do it on your own. Just take a taxi

The ship will be very quiet when we are at port. People leave right after breakfast and return around 4pm. There will be some staying behind. Don't miss going into port. It is fun. And in Mexico it is cheep to do on your own.

We always go on our own. This time we are doing the Zip line in PV on our own and Mazatlan Hotel. The only tour we are paying for is the Beach buggies in Cabo. We would have booked by ourselves but friends of ours are going on that and do we decided to do it with them. They have another friend that is afraid to venture out on there own so .....

I cant wait...I love DCL :thumbsup2 You all sound like a fun bunch and it would have been fun if i was still on this cruise. You can PM me anytime to change anything. I am on the DIS everyday. :goodvibes

her are 2 of the port restaurants. Not sure which one is the one right acroos from the ship. Accually it would be to the right of the ship as it set sails

Hey everybody! Not very excited about the excursions - We really wanted to zip line in Puerto Vallarta, but we could not book through Disney as son didn't meet age requirement and going directly failed because they did not have any availability since Disney and other cruise lines had already booked that day. Oh well. He and I may do the pirate adventure instead pirate: and DD and DH may zip. Still trying to figure it all out.

Our DS who is turning eight on the ship would like to email others his age. He is interested in meeting some other kids his age. He actually cannot email ;) so it will actually be through me :thumbsup2 . If anybody else is interested, please PM me and I will give you our email address.

Thanks :goodvibes
