This is what will be going on for dining.....

"Dining attire varies by venue or theme night on your cruise. In general,
most meals are "Cruise Casual" -- no shorts, swimwear or tank tops;
jeans are allowed. Most cruises also have special theme nights. Below is
the recommended attire for your cruise itinerary and is subject to
change:

On 7-night Mexican Riviera cruises:
*Nights 1, 3, 4, & 7: cruise casual
*Night 2: "formal night" - formal wear for men: tuxedo or suit; for
women: gown or dress
*Night 5: pirate night with deck party
*Night 6: "semi-formal night" - semi-formal wear for men: suit/jacket;
for women: dress or pantsuit.

Dress for dinner at Palo on all cruises:
Men: dress shirt or jacket
Women: dress or pantsuit

At this time we are still finalizing the evening show schedules and
expect to have them available very soon.

I hope this information has been helpful. If you require further
assistance in planning your visit, please feel free to contact us.

We look forward to sailing with you!"

Hola "Got Disney",

We'll be joining you on July 20, 2008!!! The hubby and I and our 2 sons, 6 yrs and 8 yrs. This will be our 1st Cruise!!! We are looking forward to all the Disney excitement!!!

We are Cat. 9 on Deck 2.

Who is having the Cat. 1 Suite Party??

We are not excited about the Mex. ports, but really wanted to cruise DCL without flying all the way to FL.

I just booked a girls trip cruise on RCL in March '07 to Ensenada to make sure I am ok on the boat...I get motion sickness...Sounds like a good excuse to my husband for a girls trip huh!!

Hope to chat with some of you soon!!!

Hi Quimby and welome aboard...you can call me Robin :thumbsup2 Where in So.Cal. are you from??? SanDiego here!

Congrats on your first DC!!!!!I remember mine and each time it get's betterpirate:

I agree with not having to pay air fair..that is a bonus. But I will miss going to WDW. I love DL but going to WDW is my favorie...probubly because we go to DL 2 times a year.

I do like Mexico I must add, and my favorite food is Mexican. My Dh loves Cabo and cant wait to get back there. He said since he can't do a double dip at Castaway Cay then he will have to do a DD at Cabo...lol..:thumbsup2

We are in Thousand Oaks, Ventura County, CA.

We also love Cabo (& Mex. food) ..We are planning on just spending a few hours at Medano Beach w/the kids and eating yummy Chips & Guac. from "The Office"...

I have been to PV and the hubby has been to Mazt. Neither one of us cares to see either so we haven't decided if we're staying on the ship or hanging on the beach...We are financially challenged:) so we will try not to spend $$ on excursions...

We are thinking about doing the Wine Tasting on board...we like Reds!! Maybe the Galley and Bridge tour, do you know if these tours cost?

I am taking a break from gardening and house cleaning, all day!!!
What a beautiful sunny day!!!

The wine tasting does and they will most likely have a Margarita tasting also...my favorite is the Martini tasting...:cool1:

We will be going to ElCid hotel in Mazt. It is about a 20 minute ride from the ship. Or first visit there was on a Carnival cruise way back when and loved it. We have flown there and stayed there and liked it and love there pool/pool...

i will be doing research on doing excursions on our own...will be doing the Zip line and also HB riding...and a few others...I will keep posted on what I find.

this thread is already goining on Mazt. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1330088 look for some good info from there as time goes by...

Just booked the 7/20/08 cruise too! So excited! It will be our second cruise, the first being in 2004 on the Wonder. Glad we are leaving from California this time! Florida is such a long flight! We live in the state of Washington but I grew up in northern California! We are disney vacation members with our home base at The Boardwalk in Orlando, but the last couple of years, we have used our points at the Grand Californian. It is nice to vacation and visit family at the same time!
Anyway, I am so glad the ship is back in California!
we have 2 connecting category 10 rooms on deck 2. Not crazy about the deck choice but it was all they had left at the pricepoint I was willing to spend
There will be 6 of us. My husband, myself and our 4 children
Sons 17,10, and 8 at time of sail and our daughter who will be 12.
Grand total $9479.90 through Dreams. Yikes!! So worth it really! Can't put a price on memories!
Excited to get an early start on getting to know our cruising buddies!

Welcome Michelle:dance3:

We are in a CAT 6 and paid $7,888.68 for 4....same for other week but will use pts as mentioned. This cruise seems expensive to me. Well guess all of them are but this one especially.

We are looking forward to another 14 days on the ship...we prefere to at least cruise for 10 days, 7 days always feel so short to us. But if it comes down to 7 days than we just add on 7 at WDW or DL. We just finished up 5 days at WDW and 10 day Christmas cruise and ca'nt wait to go again..

looks like at this point we will never get our deck built on our house:confused3
We have never been on the wonder yet...always seen to go on the Magic. Hope they get a new ship out our way in 2010...that is when we are planning to sail again.:thumbsup2

Hi All - just wanted to drop in and let you all know that my family and I will be traveling on this cruise. We are bonafide DCL enthusiats (SP? - its late) and we will be traveling with 1st timer family friends and 2nd timer In-Laws.

We will be the table of 10 (possibly 12) that will be celebrating - combined in one week - a total of 4 celebrations. But never fear - on one night it will be 2 anniversaries! The rest will be birthdays - have to get my birthday button from Guest Services!!:thumbsup2 I just love to celebrate special days in style and Disney knows how to make one feel special - :flower3: -

Anyway, glad to see others are already as jazzed as I am -

Later -

Hi,

We booked the 7/20/08 cruise, too. It will be our 3rd Disney cruise and 1st on Magic. We have two girls, who will be 9 & 10 in summer 2008. We're so happy that DCL sail to Mexican Reviera again. Looking forward to meet everyone here.

Quimby - thanks for pointing me to this thread.

now we are in 2607 and 2609.......didn't want to worry about noise from the restauants above so my TA moved us . Although I think we are further back, these cabins got pretty good reviews and I hope we will be fine. I believe one of them has a steamer trunk for additional storage. A plus when traveling with 6!!
We are also assigned second seating as first seating sold out. Anyone else??
Michelle

Hi everyone :)

Nice to meet you eeyorelvr and IIcalifornnia and :welcome: :boat:

We have first seating. We had late seating once and never made it to dinner because we always would eat earlier:rolleyes: If we decide to eat later than we go up to Top Siders. They have the same menu but you can go casual even in shorts(we don't but can). You have to leave a nice tip however but the service has always been great...:thumbsup2

Hello everyone!!!

The only bad thing about planning this far in advance is the waaaaait!:scared:

This will be our second cruise. We sailed in Dec. 06. My children now are DS 9 and DD 6. We have some friends who are coming with us that it will be their first cruise. Their DD and mine are the same age. We are in room 8016 and they are next to us!:woohoo: I'm excited about the cat. 2.:cloud9: My brother might come too and I am going to try and talk my Dad and stepmom into it too. I am considering asking a friend to come with my DS 9 because no one else in the group for him to play with! I'm not sure though because we have discussed coming out a few days early and going to Disneyland.

Anyone who has any advice on things to do before cruise, and where to stay I would greatly appreciate! I have never been to California. Also one of my friends who is going has never flown before, I'm sure coming into LAX for your first flying experience will be a treat!:scared1: We are coming from Southern Illinois.

Thanks for putting me onto this sight!

Hola everyone,
Bienvenida (welcome) and Buenos tardes(good afternoon) pumpkinbaby,
I am practicing my spanish...lol...

If you are worried about your 6 yo having a friend on the cruise, don't worry about that. The first day your DS will have sooooo many friends that you will be lucky if you can drag him away from them. Both my boys make at least 10 friends that they hang with on the cruise each time. They are still incontact with all of them also.

My son is 10 right know so we can hook them up as we get closer in a chat room for kids 12 and under...they will become friends before the cruise and look forward to meeting each other.

You are right...it seems soooo far away but I can gaurantee it will be here before we know it!!!It helps having the DISboards to help us wait.

We sailed in Dec also. We did the 10 day Christmas cruise. How is everyones Spanish ? I can pass on a bunch of words that we can play with.

As for a place to stay are you looking to stay at DL or a closer hotel? There are lots of great Hotels
all around DL but if you stay onsight you can get the DL transpertation to the port...The port is about an hr away depending on traffic....let me know and I will hunt down the info for you..

Well I am going to sign off for know...I will check in later adios amigos (goodby friends)
