Mexican Riviera - Jan 2nd 2012

Hi All!

We just got off the 8/16, where we booked this cruise!

Me & DP (both adults) 6592

Count us in for the FE!

At first I thought we would be able to go to the Rose Bowl the day before the cruise... then I realized the Rose Bowl is on 1/2 this year, because 1/1 is Sunday... oh well.

What plans do you all have in the LA-area (if any) before the cruise?

Yay!! Welcome!!! SO glad to have a few more join us....please let me know your names & SR no. if you have it so i can add it to the FE list on page 1.

We will probably drive down to LA on the 1st - my sister's family will be flying in from Iowa, so will meet them somewhere near LAX i'm guessing and then drive down to San Pedro on the 2nd, or maybe pick them up from the airport and head over to San Pedro that day....won't go to the parks as it will be way too crowded.

I leave in less than 3 weeks for the Repo cruise from Vancouver back to LA, so am very excited for these upcoming cruises :)

Allison (me) & Stasia
Actually, I just asked my TA about moving our stateroom, so if that changes I'll let you know.

I was actually wondering if we could see the Rose Parade, since it begins at 8 AM...

you probably can since i think the "all aboard" cutoff is somewhere between 1 & 3 i think...there is the "traffic" that you'll need to consider getting from pasadena to san pedro...but that may not be too bad, depending on where you'd be watching the parade from and how close your mode of transp will be to the dock....

thanks for the info & just let me know when you have your room no - looking fwd to meeting you both

I have been reading and re-reading the latest Passporter DCL book. Can't wait to book excursions and will hopefully be trying Palo out for the first time this cruise.

Oh yes you def need to do Palo brunch - dnr if you can but brunch for sure

I haven't even looked at the excursions yet... time to do some research!
I think all the kids have chosen one of the scuba excursions - prob in pv and then in cabo we may just do some sightseeing on our own

Anyone have any info or opinions on port vs starboard side verandahs on the MR itineraries? We usually pick starboard side for CC -going voyages, but I'm not sure for the MR. I was reading about whale sightings from port-side rooms--is that side specific, or just coincidence that the 2 TRs I read were port-side?

Any thoughts? Why did you pick port or starboard side for your stateroom?

Our family is coming along on the 1/2/12 Wonder cruise. There is 15 of us and we'd like to participate in a FE with all of you! We have

10 Adults
5 Kids (ages 16, 9, 7, 3, 1)

Cabins are mostly together on deck 2. Looking forward to exchanging and of course, cruising with all of you!

Anyone booked their port adventures, Palo, etc. yet? Our date (Silver CC) is coming up next week! Platinum and Gold must have booked already!

Has anyone figured out what the dining schedule is? What do you think they will leave out, with only 6 nights? I'm guessing they'll have the 3 rotational, pirate night, and then only two of semiformal, formal, and till we meet again?

Anyone know which night is going to be pirate night or formal/semiformal night? I assume Palo Brunch and Tea on all 3 sea days? Will their be a character breakfast?

(Do you have to call DCL to figure this out, since there is no other 6-day MR?)

I don't have a creative idea for a name - I'm the planner and will endlessly pore over books and websites. :surfweb:

But my Cousin and her DD16 have just confirmed they will be joining our party. They haven't cruised before so I can't wait to introduce them to Disney cruising! :woohoo:

We are super excited to sail the Wonder! This will be our 5th Disney Cruise but first time on the Wonder and the Mexican Riviera.

We are a family of four - me, hubby, son 16 and daughter 13.

Will be arriving on the 29th visiting LA and Disneyland :yay:

Just booked Palo but can't decide on excursions. Has anyone done the whale watching excursion?
