Mexican Riviera Cruise April 3, 2011

Does any one know who the servers are on the wonder?
we cruised a couple years ago we had Oliver and Nicole from Australia.:thumbsup2

We got our cruise docs yesterday. I booked our ground transportation. Now all thats left is to pack and wait...

Our family (14 year old son, 16 year old son, 16 year old daughter, dh, and me!) will be on the boat! We're flying down a couple of days early to spend time at Disneyland. This is our second cruise and we are all very excited.

Cruise docs arrived in the mail yesterday, making the trip even more real in my mind. We have to figure out ground transportation (the extra days before and wanting to spend the Sunday we return in the parks before we fly home that evening) makes things a bit more complicated. At this point, we're just going to rent a car...twice.

Palo is booked. Surfing lessons for oldest son is booked. City tour is booked. Parasailing is booked.

It's currently 21 degrees outside. I can't wait to be warm...

Are you doing the PV city tour?

It's about 21 here today also, so the warm weather is calling us strongly!

Hi, brand new here. My daughter, my 5 yr old granddaughter and myself are doing our first Disney Cruise. Sooo excited. Have been reading the thread and would love to participate in the Fish Extender I actually saw one on ebay, who would have known.

We would love to participate if it is not too late.

edited to say I see I am too late. I just found this board today...
Oh well, have a wonderful cruise everyone.

debbie

My biggest tip from doing cruises is to bring a electrical strip. Wonderful to have more outlets. Have done the Rockboat cruises for years, but cruising with my girls is going to be fantastic.

Just made my way back to these Boards. We are going on the 04/03/11 MR cruise too! Can't wait (in spite of people telling us we are nuts)!!! Cruise documents came today so I'm even more excited now!

Have only booked the Lands End Coastal excursion for Cabo. Nothing yet in PV.

What is this "Cabo Wabo" I see everying talking about?

I see you got the answer. It's a cute little place within walking distance from the ship.

Woohoo! Cruise docs arrived in the mail today!:thumbsup2

Our cruise docs arrived yesterday! Just making the countdown more and more real! I am so ready to get out of this cold and into the warm. An aquaintance was just in cabo telling me how wonderful and warm it is right now. I'm ready for that.

We will be doing disneyland before the cruise. If anyone wants to do a meet in the park I'm totally down with that! We are arriving at DL on friday staying at DVC, grand cal.

I still need to figure out my fish gifts and shop for a few odds and ends but I could pack tomorrow!

33 more days until we leave...woo hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a question...
I have been on other cruise Lines that do a soda card. One price at the beginning of the cruise for soda. Just wondered if the Disney Cruise does this.

Also if there are any other late comers who missed the boat so to speak:goodvibes and would like to do a second group for the fish extender... I would be up for a group of procrastinators. We have 30+ days. My granddaughter would love it.

also wanted to thank you guys for all the good tips, really looking forward to our first Disney Cruise.

Haven't been on one in a while, so it may have changed, but the last one we were on you could purchase a mug that would allow you to fill up with soda during the trip.

There are no charges for soft drinks on a Disney ship. Regular soft drinks that are not speciality soft drinks (e.g. special punches with glowing trinkets on the the cup or special smoothies) are no additional cost.

A small smoothie called a "Tug Boat" is available at no charge at breakfast in Triton's.

There is also a drinks station where you can get pop, coffee, tea and hot chocolate 24 hours a day at no charge.

There is a beer package available where you buy a 22 oz. souvenir mug for $14.95, and can then get refills for the rest of the cruise at the 16 oz. price.

There is also a wine and premium wine package available for $189 and $292 respectively.

The other drinks that carry a charge are cocktails (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) in the bars, soft drinks you order in a bar, poolside drinks, and specialty coffee and drinks at the Cove or Overlook.

Hi Debbie!

Welcome! I wouldn't mind to include your family in my distribution! Just PM me your room number and names/ages. ;)

Thanks!

Hi, for the FE gift exchange, do we pick a couple of families every day to give gifts and then rotate? I think it is better that it's spread out in terms getting gifts, but what are the rules? Also do you drop off the gifts for one particular family at one time, or today for the husband, tomorrow for the wife, and then for the kids?

I hope you know what I am talking about:-).

I do believe the only stipulation was that you give at least one gift to everybody on your list. How you do that is up to you. I know that we have enough to give out on multiple days. Plus I made a special pirate:Pirate Nightpirate: gift for each family so I will be busy on several days!

Hey Debbie,

We don't expect anything ;) I always make a couple extra of my gifts to either give to our table mates or pass on to crew members, or even for the random fish extenders that may not be on our exchange list... I think that I will be delivering 1 or 2 nights, combining all my gifts into 1-2 trips, since on the last cruise I delivered daily, and that takes soooo much time!

I wrote down your family information on my exchange paper! I hope little Eloise enjoys her surprises!

Maybe there will be some others here that will add your family to their list, too. I don't know if everyone has already made/purchased their FE stuff yet.

Our family info:
Wendy 32
Mark 33
Kennedy 7
Peyton will be 4 months old

Room 5020

Enjoy,
Wendy

Our docs arrived last week, and I cannot believe that it's so close!

Which would normally be wonderful, but it just reminds me how much I have left to do!

Still nothing booked for Cabo on either day. Still no hotel booked for Disneyland (I CANNOT DECIDE!). Still no parking arranged for the airport (we're considering a park/fly hotel stay since we will not get back until 11PM and we live a long way from an airport)

FE gifts are almost complete. Custom and regular outfits are coming in the mail and coming along at home. Pirate night outfits are close to being complete. Small incentive/reward gifts are packed for DD7. DDIttyBitty's clothes are packed.

I'm so busy that I have to do stuff as I think about it - otherwise we'll be scrambling the night before and we'll forget everything.

Has anyone made a waitstaff or table request? I normally just go with the flow on the combined seating, but with a small baby I don't know if I want to subject anyone else to delays in service, because one of us has to walk her around or whatever. I hope she just sleeps through dinner! (Yeah right)

I also have a favorite team, and I would really like to request them. Where do I call to have my request added to my ressie? I know it isn't a sure thing.

I made the request both for a specific table size and wait-staff.

DCL said they would note the request could not commit to either, but then I believe that is their stock for anything that is specifically not reservable. I guess I'm going to be standing in line on embarkation day.
