Mexican Food

What are some good choices for mexican food in LA/Hollywood? We are going to do the Warner Bros tour and a double decker bus tour at the beginning of our trip. We are going to try and find a diner for good burgers and mexican food for supper.

Any suggestions?

I sure like El Compadre Restaurant on Sunset. On Hollywood Blvd. you will find the excellent Loteria Grill

El Compadre looks really good! We are from Texas and have some really good Tex Mex, but eating Mexican food in California seems like the right thing to do!

Have not been there in years, but El Cholo in Los Angeles used to be very good..if you are near west Los Angeles (sort of south of UCLA) there is Tito's Taco's which is a takeout quasi-has some seating place that is legendary. Hot dogs is Pinks on La Brea; Hamburgers could be In-n-out or Hamburger Hamlet....Pann's Restaurant is near Los Angeles Airport on La Tijera Blvd and has great burgers, hand made onion rings, great orange freezes and Googie style architecture and for the best french dip sandwiches ever, it is Philippe's near Olvera Street near the Los Angeles Train station.
