Mexican food?

Not much to choose from. After Juan and Only's closed a few year's back, Disney was left with only the Mexico Pavillion for Mexican food. I think La Hacienda is slightly better than San Angel Inn. There are other options off property, but most of them tend to be national chains like On the Border and Chevy's, or local chains like Garibaldi's. I have not been, but locals have suggested El Tenampa in Kissimmee as a filling and affordable meal.

Where is the best mexican food in the world?

I'm guessing Mexico. ;)

San Angel Inn and La Hacienda are a push to us, just slightly different menus and location/setting. Of the two we prefer the meal we had at San Angel Inn a couple of years ago to La Hacienda. YMMV.

We have ALWAYS enjoyed our meals at San Angel Inn, even through menu changes. For offsite, I like Los Generales on John Young Parkway (north of 417). It's a very simple but yummy place.

There is also the Maya grill at Coronado Springs.... Though not the "normal" mexican food.

Paradiso 37 in Downtown Disney http://allears.net/menu/men_para.htm. I love their burritos with cilantro rice and black beans. Paradiso is run by the same company that used to run Salsa mexican restaurant at the Florida Mall. "Salsa" used to be my favorite restaurant in the world. It closed around the same time Paradiso 37 opened; the menus are very similar so it is almost like the restaurant moved. Though I must say that the food at Paradiso 37 is only 90% as good as it was at Salsa.

Previously, we would not make a trip to Orlando without a visit to Salsa restaurant, now the same is true of Paradiso 37.

Note that in addition to Mexican inspired dishes, Paradiso 37 also serves a selection of dishes inspired by various Central and South American countries, and has a selection of American dishes (ex. burgers and corn dogs) for those in the party that may not like Mexican food.

I don't know how fancy you want be we love the new Cantina de San Angel. The chicken tacos are just awesome.

I'm glad to hear a good review on Paradiso 37. I noticed the restaurant on my trip last year, but didn't get the chance to dine there. We are looking forward to trying it on NYE, but hadn't heard much about it yet.

I prefer Pirata y el Perico but the only problem is they are only open certain times of the year and even then they have limited hours. But the rice there tastes the closest to authentic rice that you can get on property. At least in my opinion :)

We've always enjoyed the San Angel Inn AND the Taqueria Del Lago. Both are in the Mexico World Showcase of Epcot.

We just ate at La Hacienda and had a very good dinner. I think a little more expensive than San Angel which we like too!

Are you looking for authentic Mexican food or Tex-mex?

Your choices at Disney are still pretty much the same - slim; but knowing what you're looking for would help.

Taqueria del Lago is gone. It was temporary until the new Cantina opened.

I was at La Hacienda last night. The seafood grill is pretty good. I do wish it had been served sizzling like some of these grill platters are at Mexican restaurants but it was tasty. It was very expensive and the service was a bit off though.
