Just read someones reply where the waiters told them to stay on Cozumel and have dinner there as the food is better.
What type food is Mexicali night dinner? Any Mexican? Is it good or nah?

I was the one who said that.

It was fun getting dressed in Tropical clothes and the atmosphere was festive.

Don't remember what was on the menu but our waiter would only let us order the shrimp with rice dish which was just OK, not great. He said the other stuff wasn't even worth having. We were a party of 8 and 4 of our crowd did stay in Cozumel and ate and drank their. Our waiter actually went over to meet them at Carlos and Charlies after our dinner seating but by then they were back on the boat.

OK, I'm rambling, the point is, we thought the food stunk. Every other meal the entire week long, we were very pleased with but this one wasn't any good. I do remember the lobster on Captain's night was a bit dry(maybe from them freezing them), but it was still good.

BD - I almost added the fattening part to my question.
I know any Mexican isnt as good for me as other food but I am also asking for 2 other family members who both happen to love Mexican food.
Im thinking more along the lines of grilled chicken & veggies for myself but my boys like the other items. Trying to keep them happy too.

Well.........................this little moderator made the mistake of visiting Carlos & Charlie's before dinner, and never quite made it to the dining room that evening. (Note to self: drinks on ship not very strong, drinks in Mexico plain evil. ;) :p )

Before that fateful stop at C&C, we had lunch at Las Palmas and it was excellent. They have a mole sauce that's outstanding.

Whatever you do, stick to the Disney recommended restaurants/bars. Their water systems have been checked and are safe.

and full of salt, carbohydrates,calories.................

And probably full of saturated fat, polyunsaturated fat, cholesterol, sugar, amino acids.....

And if the food really sucks you WONT starve to death...order room service if you feel hungry, get some pizza or just wait until morning when the food process starts all over again! We never have eaten at a late night buffet because we are stuffed from our early seating dinner! If the food sucks get a drink, everything tastes better when your plastered with the munchies!

Even my DH's meatloaf!:hyper:

We skipped the Mexican food on the ship and had a wonderful dinner at Panchos Backyard:Pinkbounc We never miss at least one dinner there when we go to Cozumel.:wave2:

We were shooing later than expected and rather than go to dinner late (about 15 minutes) we went to Topsiders that night and actually thought the choices were pretty good. It was the first night we did not feel stuffed, more like the amount we eat at home. All was in vain though as the waiter sent the complete dessert menu to our cabin for each of us via our traveling companions (who were on time for dinner).

The desserts that night were great!!
