Nothing like waiting until the last minute... Help, I'm trying to plan excursions for Mex Riv Cruise 7/20/08, and my kids are interested in a zip line/canopy tour. Can anyone offer guidance? In Puerto Vallarta, the Vallarta Adventures Canopy Tour seems safe and not so scary. Los Veranos seems really thrilling, but may be too hard. Our party includes five people, ages 62, 50, 16, 12, 8. the 8 year old girl is fearless and in great physical shape. The 62 year old doesn't really like heights, so this could be a problem, but I don't want to leave him by himself all day with nothing to do. The water park at Sea Life Park looks awesome, too, and if we do the Vallarta Adventures, we would have to miss that. Maybe we could zip line in Cabo, but the Youtube of Wild Canyon Ekopark in Cabo looks like it would scare us to death!! Help! Does anyone have a suggestion... quick!! Thanks!

We did Los Veranos on our 6/22/08 sailing, and all four of us had a great time. They were great with my DD (9). We had prepped her with videos through youtube first, so she knew what to expect. There is a lot of stair climbing, and at least one of the older ladies was having trouble with her asthma. The crew had her bypass some of the middle ziplines and she met up with her group for the last few. (There are 14 lines total.)

I felt very safe with Los Veranos, from their equipment to their handling of their clients.

Thanks! Did you think that the Los Veranos Canopy Tour equipment was too heavy for your DD9 to carry? My 8-year old only weights 50 lbs herself, and I have heard that the equipment weighs 20 lbs, that the metal lines are noisy. Did you find this to be the case? Many thanks for all the help.

The equipment is a bit heavy, but my husband carried it for her part of the way when it got to be too much. The staff also was conscious of this, and at times, they collected the equipment from the women and children and had them waiting at the start of the line. A nice touch. I didn't find the noise too much...in fact, I think it added to the adrenaline of the experience!

We just returned from the Mex Riviera and really wanted to do the zip line. But our kids were too small and I didn't want to leave them on the ship.

Just my opinion after seeing the 3 ports, the only place I would want to do the zip line would be Puerto Vallarta. My reasoning? Puerto Vallarta is surrounded by these mountainous jungles. I think part of the appeal of zip lining would be the fact that you are doing it in a lush jungle. Cabo is so dry and rocky, are there even any trees there? LOL

We did do a different excursion with Vallarta Adventures and I can say that I was very impressed with their employees and how well organized they seemed to be.

That sea life park looks pretty cool though. I saw some pictures someone had posted here.

We did the zip lining in Puerto Vallarta and loved it. It was me, DH, DS17 and DD18. It takes app an hour to get there but you ride through the countryside and get to see several villages. The staff is incredible and make you feel very safe. There are about 13 lines you do and they take pictures so bring money. The scenery is beautiful. :) :) We were very happy we took this tour.
