Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - Part II

The other night I dreamed that the powers that be decided that our levees are completely unsafe and ordered the total and permanent evacuation of the city and surrounding areas before the start of the hurricane season. It was an awful dream. Of course there were no moving trucks to be had so we could only bring what we could carry in our two vehicles, so no furniture or appliances. And we were told that we could not come back for anything we left behind. It seemed so real and brought back memories of that awful day of evacuating when we were touching base with neighbors before we left, finding out where they were going and making sure we had cell phone numbers. Little did we know how useless they were going to be, right? :-/

Aiden figured out how to get his backwards diaper off too.

Yes indeed!:rotfl: I am sure you were not happy about that.

Especially when he looks at me with this sweet face

Stephanie - too cute!

Good Morning ladies...I can't wait to enjoy my 4 day weekend...come on 5 p.m.

Ok ladies.. found an awesome website.. tons of food porn ; )

Sheryl i thought of you as soon as i saw it. I knew you and Kathy and all those folks over at the WFD thread would just eat it up LOL no pun intended!

tastespotting.com

Thanks Jenny! I'll go take a look! Did you see my dinner I posted on the WFDT last night? Becky hasn't been posting much food porn, so I made my own!

IDK about you guys, but I have been having a ton of anxiety about hurricane season. I couldn't get myself to watch that show, and now I am glad I didn't.
I have been having bad dreams about Katrina. I guess maybe I repressed it or something, but I wish I could get over this already.

Yeah, How can you be upset with that little face?! He's is too cute!

Steph - He's adorable!!!

Still got this nasty intestinal bug, thankfully the fever and aches are gone.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Aiden is adorable!!!

Kathy - hope you feel better. I was so sick about 4 weeks ago.

Lots of news here - my dad (the big kidder) was slurring words on Monday. He will do that as a joke - I finally told him to stop it or I was going to call 911. I went over to him - his left eye was wandering, left size of his face was frozen, and he could not move his left arm.

Can you say 911 - fortunately they arrived pretty quickly and took us to Touro - which is only about 4 blocks from me.

Thank goodness it was a TIA or ministroke and the paralysis went away, but he is still at Touro. 90% blockage of his carotid artery so I am still waiting to hear from the surgeon.

I am amazingly calm about all of this - I must be in shock.

Tricia, I am so sorry to hear about your Dad! You must be in shock because you are awfully calm. Good new that it's a ministroke. Prayers coming your way! :flower3:

Tricia - I can tell you from experience that is exactly what it is. I am here if you need to cry, vent, anything. I'll be praying for you both. Please keep us posted.

Tricia, I'll be keeping your dad in my prayers.

Kathy, I hope your feel better soon.

Goodness Tricia, i will keep your father and you in my prayers!

Sheryl Im going to check out your pics!

Yes Tricia  to you and your dad. Take care of yourself.

Kathy - please drink fluides; gatorade and/or water in small amounts as to not get dehydrated.

It is so nasty out. Please be careful driving home.

Jenny - Thanks for the link, awesome porn!;)

Terry - I am, Gatorade has been my friend for two days.

I'm praying Kyle doesn't get this, he leaves tomorrow for his first baseball tournament with the Louisiana Knights, they'll be in Jackson, MS for the weekend.

Jenny - Thanks for the link, awesome porn!;)

LMAO... that just sounds wrong!

Can you post the link to the new WFDT.. for some reason i can find the up to date one!

My oldest has moved back home and it looks like I will be needing to cook in bulk as he is eating me out of house and home.

"And the rain rain rain came down down down..." pooh: :umbrella:

Hey y'all! It was storming out here, so what do sane people do when it's raining outside? Why, go out for sushi of course! :upsidedow We hit some deep water heading Uptown, but luckily we made it through okay. The sushi was delicious! Sienna ate most of DH's seaweed salad and her favorite snow crab rolls. And all of the pickled ginger- she wasn't sharing any of that :snooty: .

Grammy came over to babysit earlier so DH and I could go see Indiana Jones- we loved it! It's been so long since we have seen a movie together- it was quite nice!

Kathy- hope you feel better soon! Hopefully Kyle won't catch the ick.

Tricia- to you and your father. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Stephanie- I know it's so hard to stay mad at that cute face! (Especially when they do such rotten things!) Sienna hasn't had much interest "down there" so far, which is also bad in that she has had *zero* interest in potty training so far. I have a feeling that potty training is going to be hell with her.

Jenny- I love me some good porn!- erm, food porn, that is. ;) :rotfl:

OMG GOSH LORIE....those pics of your sweet girl , she is getting way to big! I just want to hug and kiss those sweet cheeks LOL!
What did you think of the Indiana Jones movie, can a 5 yr old handle it? He just watched all the other movies on tv and im wondering if I can bring him to see the movie?

Tricia-I am so sorry about your dad. I am glad his stroke/TIA did not seem to cause permanent damage. It truly is amazing to me what some meds can do for strokes these days. I get a LOT of stroke patients(they wanna see if the clot/thing that blocked the artery- came from the heart,) but you all obviously know where it came from. I am always amazed at the progress made in this area of medicine.

Gotta work this weekend. I guess it pays for food and Christmas and Disney!!! So I'll be happy...:lovestruc

Lori

Good morning.

Tricia, how's you dad today?

Lori, that's wonderful--ya'll had a date night:love: Was the movie good? DS16 wanted to see the midnight show the other night. I asked him if he was crazy because he still had two exams left.:rotfl:

Kathy, are you feeling better?

Stephanie, your baby is so cute:)

Sheryl, have you heard any more from the little princessprincess: in WDW?

If he could handle the other three movies, then I think he could handle it. It is similiar to the other three in terms of violence (Indy beating up the bad guys) but there is nothing sexual or anything like that. Just a whole lot of fighting! Maybe just warn him ahead of time about the violence, cover his eyes if he gets scared, etc.

It wasn't as good as Raiders of the Lost Ark of course, but we really enjoyed it- more nostalgia than anything. Lots of people afterwards were saying that they felt old after watching it! It is kind of weird seeing Harrison Ford as an older Indiana Jones.
